Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.

Work You’ll Do

Work with a team of tax professionals to implement new tax software products and optimize the services provided via existing products. Provide an integrated approach to process improvement that can help the tax department maximize its strategic value to the organization. Tailor consulting methodologies to identify improvement opportunities. Advise clients on the business impact of implementing data wrangling tools. Utilize tax technology applications experience to address a corporate tax function’s unique needs, requirements and obligations and develop comprehensive solutions to ensure tax-critical financial information is captured and leveraged efficiently by automating repetitive tasks with data wrangling
solutions. Solve complex tax issues as they arise. Present research findings to senior management. Inform clients of tax software developments that affect their business. Help clients to interpret and integrate such tax considerations into their business strategy. Assess clients' current organizational capabilities and use data to create a roadmap for transformation. Document results from workshops. Determine tax requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Business Analytics, Statistics, Information Systems, Operations Management or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen (18) months as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining tax automation experience.

Experience must include eighteen (18) months of:

  • streamlining tax data processing using database languages and macros;
  • developing tax solutions in Excel, Python, Alteryx, and Power BI to automate workflows, update deferred validation models, and run taxbase support packages;
  • performing data analytics and integration to implement tax processes and tax technology solutions;
  • gathering and analyzing prior tax data from clients and modifying needs for integrating documentation into applicable tax systems and identifying deficiencies in prior filings and make recommendations accordingly;
  • assisting tax system performance of direct tax compliance by providing advanced troubleshooting and automation solutions;
  • conducting requirement sessions with clients to gather and document tax requirements for corporate tax departments and perform system fit and gap analysis;
  • assisting clients with their evaluation of their current processes and data flow surrounding tax technology tools, and assisting clients in implementing improvements;
  • implementing tax provision software to facilitate system design discussion, conduct system configuration, resolve technical issues, and provide go-live support; and
  • utilizing tax software to design and automate tax provision workpapers to improve efficiency and effectiveness of quarter estimation and year-end provision processes.

Experience must include 12 months of:

  • developing tax solutions in OneSource DataFlow and Data Hub, Excel, Python, Alteryx Designer and Alteryx Server, Power Platform and Power BI to design and automate workflows.

Position requires 10% domestic travel.

Annual Salary: $103,210.00 - $184,210.00.
