Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Seattle, Washington.
Work You’ll Do
Assist companies with federal, state and local, and international tax structures and align the tax function with business objectives. Assist clients with fundamental tax planning and analysis, work to understand company-specific business and tax issues and identify and mitigate risk areas. Under the supervision of Tax Managers, oversee tax consulting/compliance projects for clients in diverse industries. Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues encountered on engagements. Develop a working knowledge of the client’s business and tax systems, take responsibility for clearing open items relating to assigned areas, meeting client deadlines, and contribute to the successful completion of projects. Actively participate in engagement planning. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign educational equivalent) plus eighteen months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
Experience must include eighteen months of:
• preparing federal and state/local income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals, including Form 1040, Form 5471, Form 5472, Form 926, Form 1065, Form 1120, Form 1120-F, Form 8858/8865 and FinCEN114;
• performing detailed technical reviews of partnership and corporate federal tax returns, reviewing related work papers, preparing and reviewing Schedule K-1s and estimated quarterly tax payments;
• utilizing tax research tools, including BNA and CCH, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients and researching tax law and updates and respond to federal and state tax notices;
• utilizing tax software, including CCH Axcess and GoSystems Tax RS, to prepare federal and state income tax returns and calculate estimated tax and process filings;
• assisting corporations, partnerships, and individuals with Internal Revenue Service and state tax examinations, responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs), and drafting response memos;
• drafting or preparing information requests, engagement letters, planning letters, and setting up files for client engagements;
• preparing federal and state quarterly estimated tax payments for corporations, partnerships, and individuals and preparing schedules for federal and state income tax returns and state franchise tax;
• interacting with clients on tax consulting projects, including tax methods planning, credits and incentives, and state nexus studies; and
• mentoring and coaching junior team members.

Annual Salary: $81,620.00 - $151,580.00.
