Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, New York.

Work You’ll Do
Advise U.S. multinational companies on their global Indirect Tax (VAT) matters. Draft and assist in the delivery of proposals for engagements and the range of services offered by the organization. Undertake research on Value Added Tax legislation to advise multinational clients. Prepare for and attend trainings and undertake developmental reading and learning. Prepare VAT compliance returns.

Requirements
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Finance, Law, Accounting, Taxation, Economics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent). Position requires eighteen (18) months of experience as a Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience advising multinational companies on the indirect tax implications of their international operations with respect to value-added tax (VAT).

Experience must include eighteen (18) months of:

  • Providing technical and practical VAT consulting and advisory services to multinational businesses;
  • Researching changes to global VAT law and VAT case law through the use of various resources;
  • Assisting with the filing of indirect tax registrations, indirect tax returns, refund claims and other required filings;
  • Assisting with reviewing VAT tasks, mentoring and developing junior members of the team, and assisting with reviewing the work of teams;
  • Interacting directly with senior-level team members, both internal and external, to discuss engagement-related issues;
  • Providing tax technical advice in relation to the implementation of ERP and financial implementations, including SAP, to handle VAT accounting; and
  • Corresponding with clients in relation to their indirect tax matters and providing timely updates, and corresponding with tax authorities through disclosures, VAT refund claims and payments.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $94,500.00 -$175,500.00
