Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in San Jose, California.

Work You’ll Do
Provide compliance and consulting services to public and private companies. Provide effective diagnosis, solution, development, and implementation of clients' tax needs. Develop and pursue creative strategies while using the latest technologies. Conduct day-to-day management of accounts by delivering all tax consulting services to the client and bringing in specialists when necessary. Oversee complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries. Participate in engagements requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Perform research and analysis of a wide-range of tax issues related to business transactions and tax implications of financing techniques. Perform tax planning responsibilities for our corporate and individual clients. Supervise assignments by the professional accountants serving as Consultants and Senior Consultants. Responsible for the development and motivation of engagement staff by providing them with leadership, counseling and career guidance.

Requirements
Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.

Experience must include three (3) years of:

  • Preparing C-Corporations' federal, state, and international income tax returns;
  • Reviewing international tax forms, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8858, 8865, and 1118 and backup calculations, including GILTI, Subpart F, FDII, and foreign tax credits;
  • Utilizing tax software, including GoSystem, to prepare federal, state and local, and international income tax returns, and calculate estimated tax and process filings, and utilizing tax research tools, including BNA and CCH, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients;
  • Performing analysis for FIN 48, effective tax rate reconciliation, and valuation allowance, as well as preparing tax deferred tax schedules and tax review memos, to properly account for income taxes during the preparation of tax provisions for corporations;
  • Preparing quarterly estimated tax payments for Corporations, and preparing schedule for federal and state income tax returns and state franchise tax;
  • Preparing quarterly and annual provisions in accordance with ASC 740;
  • Assisting corporations in Internal Revenue Service and state tax examinations, and responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs) and drafting memos to analyze and respond to IDRs and various tax notices;
  • Reviewing due diligence reports, Section 382 studies, multi-state sales and use tax research, and employment retention credits for clients;
  • Interacting directly with senior management of the team and clients to discuss issue resolution and continuity; and
  • Assisting with supervising the full lifecycle of engagements, including staffing, budgeting, and closing out projects.

Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week;
Annual Salary: $146,037.00 - $213,200.00
