Tax Intern, Washington National Tax (WNT)

Work you’ll do
As a Deloitte Tax intern in the Washington National Tax (WNT) practice, you will work with diverse and talent teams on transforming how we prepare, automate, and digitize written deliverables. You will leverage industry-leading GenAI (Generative Artificial Intelligence) tools and platforms to enhance efficiency, creativity, and accuracy in documentation processes, while working alongside top tax professionals on initiatives critical to our business.
The successful WNT tax intern will be able to:
· GenAI-Driven Tax Process Automation
o Utilize GenAI solutions (such as internal Deloitte platforms and commercially available AI tools) to streamline the drafting, review, and formatting of tax memos, client advisory letters, reports, and other deliverables.
o Explore and apply GenAI to quickly produce high-quality, branded, and consistent tax documents, with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
· Process Mapping & Analysis
o Support detailed review and documentation of current written deliverable workflows.
o Identify automation and digitization opportunities, including where GenAI can add value and reduce manual effort.
· Quality and Consistency Improvements
o Work with senior tax practitioners to ensure that outputs generated by GenAI are standardized and adhere to Deloitte’s branding, compliance, and legal requirements.
o Assist in developing checklists and controls for reviewing and validating GenAI-generated content.
· Internal & External Document Enhancement
o Collaborate with tax subject matter professionals to digitize and modernize internal guidance and client-facing materials using cutting-edge GenAI capabilities.
· Research & Recommendations
o Stay updated on best practices in GenAI, digital transformation, and automation within the tax industry and beyond.
o Prepare succinct summaries and presentations to share project findings and recommendations, including learnings from GenAI application.

Qualifications
Required
· Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in computer science, informations systems, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
· Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)
· Demonstrated interest in process innovation, automation, GenAI and/or digital transformation through coursework, projects or internship experience.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
· Ability to perform job responsibilities within in a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week
· Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
· Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment
· The start date for this position will be in Winter 2026
Preferred
· Exposure to business, accounting, tax and or/a professional services environment
· Ability to communicate complex technology solutions simply and effectively
· Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs) or coursework involving automation tools (e.g. VBA, Power Automate, Alteryx or similar tool), workflow mapping, process documentation, digitization and/or GenAI projects
*This internship is anticipated to be 8-12 weeks in duration with no expectation of future employment.
