Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. From strategy to execution, this team delivers integrated, end-to-end support and advisory services covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, government operations modernization, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. Work alongside clients every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and provide practical solutions at every stage of their journey—before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.
Work You’ll Do
• Lead end-to-end predictive modeling efforts: understand the business use case, conduct preliminary analyses, and propose solutions using statistical and machine learning techniques.
• Validate feasibility quickly through data exploration, proof-of-concept modeling, and clear readouts on what will (and won’t) work.
• Improve model performance and robustness by addressing issues like imbalance, overfitting, and leakage; apply strong analytical reasoning to select appropriate methods.
• Interpret and explain model outcomes using feature importance, SHAP, and related techniques; share findings for technical review and iteration.
• Work in a highly collaborative environment with data scientists and leaders across geographies, creating alignment on methods, standards, and delivery milestones.
• Communicate methodology and results to project leadership and senior management in a way that enables decisions and builds trust.
• Supervise and develop a team of data scientists: guide data sourcing and preparation across disparate systems; set modeling best practices; raise quality and speed.
• Mentor team members as a technical and business SME, supporting performance and career growth.
• Stay current on advances in AI/ML, bringing relevant techniques into the team’s toolkit responsibly.

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- 5+ years predictive modeling
- 2+ years leading a team of data scientists
Preferred:
- Experience building and deploying models in cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering and LLM applications such as RAG
- Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related quantitative field (PhD preferred
- Passion for leading and developing data scientists through mentorship, feedback, and technical guidance.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $131,000 to $218,300.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
