Position Summary

The National Partner, Principal and Managing Director (PPMD) Excellence team sets strategy and leads execution across the PPMD lifecycle - admissions, development and succession, performance management, relations, and transitions - in collaboration with Deloitte businesses and firm leadership. Our objective is to enable consistent, objective processes that support PPMD careers and the needs of the U.S. Firms.

As a Manager in the Office of PPMD Excellence, you will own execution across a portfolio of strategic, operational, and technology-enabled initiatives. You will partner with stakeholders across operating models and channels, develop executive-ready materials for leadership forums, and drive work spanning process improvement, transformation, change management, technology, AI-enabled solutions, data, and analytics. This role requires strong judgment, comfort with ambiguity, and the ability to manage highly confidential and sensitive information.

Reports to: Office of PPMD Excellence Leader

Recruiting for this role ends on April 28, 2026

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership, Governance & Execution

  • Own day-to-day delivery of multiple concurrent initiatives - keeping work within scope, on schedule, and aligned with business priorities
  • Lead end-to-end execution of key components of strategic initiatives and projects across the PPMD lifecycle, including workplans, milestones, and quality controls
  • Establish and manage governance routines across stakeholders (cadence, decision points, issue escalation), ensuring alignment to firm standards and timelines
  • Navigate ambiguity and shifting priorities while maintaining clear stakeholder expectations and delivery accountability

Process Design, Transformation & Continuous Improvement

  • Diagnose complex problems, identify and assess options, and develop informed recommendations that improve the effectiveness, consistency, and scalability of PPMD lifecycle processes
  • Develop business cases, ROI analyses, and executive recommendations for new and evolving programs
  • Define and manage rollout of complex initiatives spanning multiple businesses, including requirements gathering, operating model implications, and change impacts
  • Identify risks, control considerations, and dependencies; partner with relevant groups to mitigate risk and enable effective execution

Stakeholder Management & Facilitation

  • Proactively counsel, advise, and influence stakeholders; facilitate discussions to clarify problem statements, surface tradeoffs, and drive decisions
  • Serve as a representative and proxy for PPMD Excellence leadership as needed, maintaining professionalism and discretion
  • Build trusted relationships across businesses, channels, and enabling functions to enable collaboration and decision-making

Executive Communications & Materials

  • Develop executive-ready storylines and deliverables for leadership forums, translating complex information into clear recommendations and implications
  • Prepare business cases, progress reports, and meeting materials for stakeholders and leaders
  • Manage communications planning and execution for process changes and peak-cycle messaging in partnership with PPMD Excellence communications resources

Technology, Analytics & Data

  • Manage PPMD Excellence technology and analytics - including oversight of product management staff responsible for day-to-day platform operations, delivery, and stakeholder coordination
  • Manage technology and AI-enabled project delivery, coordinating across technical teams, ITS partners, vendors, and internal centers of excellence
  • Lead quantitative and qualitative analyses on complex topics; synthesize insights into clear conclusions and actions for leaders
  • Oversee related reporting and analytics deliverables, including dashboards, ad hoc requests, and recurring insights
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements; manage stakeholder expectations and surface risks early
  • Support adoption planning and change management as new initiatives and tools go live

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6-8 years in program management, consulting, or a combination - with experience managing both strategic and technical workstreams
  • Experience in a professional services environment (or similarly complex, matrixed organization), with strong business judgment and discretion
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through rollout, including work planning, stakeholder alignment, and execution
  • Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills - ability to structure ambiguous problems, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop recommendations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level presentation development and facilitation
  • Proven ability to counsel, influence, and partner effectively with stakeholders across all levels
  • Experience designing or improving technology and AI-enabled solutions; ability to serve as connective tissue between business stakeholders and technical teams
  • Experience with reporting, dashboards, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent)
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity; ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
  • Ability to travel 0-20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deloitte business experience
  • MBA or Master's degree
  • Familiarity with the PPMD lifecycle and partnership models

Work Environment

  • Location: Remote-first within the US
  • Travel: Occasional - one to four times per year to support leadership meetings and attend team meetings
