Position Summary

As a Lead Experience Researcher for Deloitte DT-US Product Engineering team, you will work with a creative group in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Strategically design, plan, and execute user research studies and analyze behavioral metrics to paint a complete picture of our users to drive design decisions and user experience priorities. A strong specialization in mobile experience research is essential for this role and a proven track record of user research strategy and execution using a deep toolbox of methodologies to explore behavior, workflow and motivations of our users. Passion for blending qualitative and quantitative research to inform design strategy, rapid prototyping, and iterative testing for continuous improvement essential. Work you'll do

As a Manager, Mobile Experience Researcher on the Product Engineering team, you will be responsible for:

  • Defining and executing mobile research strategies across the product development lifecycle, from early concept exploration through post-launch evaluation
  • Planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research using methods such as interviews, usability testing, surveys, ethnographic research, and behavioral analysis to generate actionable insights
  • Partnering with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align research priorities with product strategy, user needs, and business goals
  • Synthesizing findings into artifacts such as research readouts, personas, dashboards, and design recommendations that inform decision-making and improve user experiences
  • Leading cross-functional workshops and mentoring researchers and team members to strengthen research practices and promote a customer-centered product mindset

The team

US Deloitte Technology Product Engineering modernizes software and product delivery through a scalable, outcome-focused model that supports Deloitte’s businesses, service lines, and internal operations. As Deloitte’s primary internal development organization, the team builds and deploys digital products that help the firm operate effectively and serve clients with greater speed, consistency, and impact. Product Engineering brings together product, design, engineering, and research talent to deliver practical, user-centered solutions aligned to business priorities.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Science, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience conducting user research using qualitative and quantitative methods across the product development lifecycle
  • Experience conducting mobile experience research and applying research methods to mobile application workflows, behaviors, and usability
  • Experience translating research findings into deliverables such as personas, journey maps, usability findings, dashboards, or product recommendations
  • Experience partnering with cross-functional teams that include product management, design, and engineering
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Behavioral Science, or a related field
  • Experience using mobile research methods across iOS and Android platforms
  • Experience with behavioral analytics, survey design, and usability testing tools
  • Experience building or reporting research metrics and dashboards for product or design teams
  • Experience facilitating workshops using design-thinking or co-creation methods
  • Experience applying mobile accessibility standards and platform guidelines, including Apple Human Interface Guidelines or Material Design

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,100 to $232,300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
