Work You Will Do
The Manager is a leadership role within GPS Security responsible for providing governance and ensuring effective execution of classified security disciplines and programs across the Government & Public Services (GPS) Practice. This role operates with significant autonomy and accountability, balancing strategic priorities with daily operational execution while managing risk in highly regulated national security environments.
Consistent with Manager expectations, this position provides sustained oversight of classified operations and secure infrastructures, serves as a trusted advisor to firm and client leadership for mission‑critical security functions and ongoing compliance with Federal Regulatory requirements.
Strategy, Governance, and Risk Leadership
- Serve as a trusted advisor to PPMDs, GPS engagement leadership, and client stakeholders on all matters related to security compliance, classified operations, and approach/response development of security plans for classified proposals
- Execute security strategy aligned to GPS Security objectives, national security requirements, and firm risk posture.
- Provide team governance for classified programs, ensuring consistent application of policies, standards, and controls.
- Anticipate, assess, and mitigate security and compliance risks associated with classified operations and secure infrastructure.
- Translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into clear recommendations for stakeholders and decision makers.
Classified Operations & Program Oversight
- Maintain accountability for security compliance and operational effectiveness across all classified engagements within defined purview.
- Oversee secure facilities, systems, and processes supporting classified work, ensuring environments remain accreditation‑ready, resilient, available, and compliant.
- Lead reviews, Annual Inspections, audits, and remediation activities related to classified security requirements.
- Drive scalable solutions that support growth in classified work while maintaining strong governance and control.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a trusted advisor to PPMDs, GPS leadership, and client stakeholders on security compliance, classified operations, and risk posture.
- Represent GPS Security in discussions related to national security, compliance, and secure infrastructure utilization and initiatives.
People Leadership & Succession Planning
- Lead, mentor, and develop Team Leads, and team members supporting classified security programs.
- Set expectations, reinforce accountability, and model Manager behaviors across teams.
- Contribute to talent strategy, workforce and workload planning, and capability development within GPS Security.
Operational Excellence
- Balance competing priorities across multiple teams and classified initiatives while maintaining delivery discipline.
- Proactively address capacity constraints and operational risks to prevent mission impact.
- Drive continuous improvement and efficiency in security processes, governance models, and execution.
The Team
At Deloitte, GPS Security is an internal operations team providing a range of security services. We help Deloitte professionals navigate security protocols from proposals, through the contract, to contract close out. Our clients are other Deloitte professionals. Our team members work collaboratively and apply their specialized knowledge and skills to think proactively to provide a holistic customer-centric experience for our Deloitte professionals and external clients.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience leading classified security programs within federal or national security environments
- Deep knowledge of classified operations, security disciplines, external client requirements, and national security frameworks and regulations such as the National Security Program Operations Manual (NISPOM) and the Intelligence Community Directives (ICD’s)
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently, manage enterprise‑level risk, and influence stakeholders
- Proven people leader with experience building and sustaining high‑performing security teams
- Top Secret/SCI clearance with poly
- Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years relevant experience at a security management level
- Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- In office role with primary location in our Chantilly, VA office with no defined remote work role
