Within Deloitte’s M&A Offering, the Information Technology (IT) Diligence team helps corporate and private equity clients evaluate the technology factors that can influence deal value, execution, and post-close outcomes. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex transactions, assess information technology and software environments, identify risks and value creation opportunities, and help clients make informed investment decisions in fast-moving deal settings.

Work You’ll Do
As an M&A Senior Consultant on the IT Diligence team, you will be responsible for:
- Evaluating information technology systems, software environments, and operating models to identify transaction risks, separation and integration considerations, and value creation opportunities
- Performing technology due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and partnerships across corporate and private equity transactions
- Synthesizing diligence findings into client-ready analyses, reports, and recommendations that support investment decisions and broader transaction strategy
- Developing workplans for engagement components, coordinating activities across workstreams, and identifying scope changes during execution
- Designing deliverables aligned to engagement objectives and client needs, including verification and validation of findings and outputs

The Team
M&A advises corporate and PE clients across inorganic growth/divestiture scenarios through M&A strategy, diligence, integration/separation planning and execution, financial and modeling services, and transaction financing.
Within Strategy & Transactions, Deloitte’s M&A IT team focuses on the technology considerations that shape transaction outcomes. The team assesses applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, product technology, data, and information technology operating models to identify risks, cost implications, separation and integration considerations, and opportunities to create value. Practitioners work across the deal lifecycle and collaborate with broader M&A teams to help clients align diligence findings to the investment thesis and post-close priorities. Part of this team, known as IT Diligence, focuses on transaction diligence and execution. The IT Diligence team enables efficient, effective due diligence across IT, allowing our clients to focus on strategic priorities. They help identify technology risks, value drivers, and synergy opportunities for acquisitions and divestitures, supporting value creation and post-deal success.
Qualifications:
Required:
- 4+ years of experience in information technology across at least four of the following areas: information technology organization, information technology processes, applications, infrastructure, cloud technology, and cybersecurity
- 4+ years of experience synthesizing data, identifying risks and value creation opportunities, and developing assessment findings for transaction or diligence-related work
- 2+ years of experience presenting findings in verbal, written, and analytical formats as part of a mergers and acquisitions diligence effort
- Completion and delivery of 10+ information technology due diligence projects for strategic or financial clients
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of consulting or industry experience; alternatively, Master of Business Administration and 2+ years of work experience
- Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
Preferred:
- Master of Business Administration or advanced degree in technology with 3+ years of consulting experience, 2+ years of mergers and acquisitions consulting experience, and 4+ years of practical information technology operations experience
- Experience leading digital transformation efforts across enterprise resource planning, cloud, infrastructure, or custom-developed technologies
- Experience leading pre- and post-merger information technology activities
- Lead responsibility for delivery of 20+ information technology diligence projects for strategic or financial clients
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $151,500 to $252,500.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
