Work You’ll Do
ISSO personnel must have hands-on technical and analytical experience supporting the RMF lifecycle, cybersecurity monitoring, continuous authorization, and security control assessments. They must understand and interpret data from security tools and apply NIST frameworks with precision. Support enterprise, mission, and system-level RMF readiness, establish tailored baselines, identify assets, assess risks, and determine system placement in the enterprise architecture. Perform FIPS 199 categorization, develop SSP subsections, register systems, and ensure early engagement with developers to integrate cybersecurity impact analysis. Document, implement, and validate selected controls, incorporating security architecture, privacy requirements, and common control inheritance. Develop assessment plans, test controls, produce SARs, document findings, and support POA&M development. Provide timely and accurate evidence and responses using approved tools. Support audits, collaborate with internal and external partners, and perform self-assessments. Maintain program policies, adjudicate comments, and assess the impact of federal directives and legislation.

The Project Delivery Talent Model is designed for professionals with specialized skills that align to a current client need. Team members focus on delivering services to clients, without additional expectations related to business development or promotion. Their employment is tied to their role on a project, and they are eligible for a benefits package that is competitive for project delivery-focused professionals.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Active TS/ Q security clearance required
- Must be local to the DMV area or Albuquerque, NM and come onsite 5 days a week
- Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- 3+ years of experience being in an ISSO role
- 3+ years of the following experience:
- Proficiency in NIST SP 800-37, 800-53, 800-60, FIPS 199, CNSSI 1253.
- Ability to perform risk assessments, system categorization, and control selection.
- Experience with eGRC tools (e.g., Archer) for documentation, continuous monitoring, and POA&M management.
- Skills in communicating risk, documenting controls, and supporting both internal and external assessments.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
