Work you will do
The evening DU Operations Security Manager is responsible for on-site physical security at Deloitte University in Westlake, Texas. This position requires oversight of property access control and CCTV systems across multiple buildings on campus, including emergency warning & fire monitoring systems. The Security Manager is responsible for fostering relationships with federal, state, and local police agencies, as well as fire and EMS responders. Security Managers at Deloitte University ensure the proper application and use of the Deloitte University Crisis & Incident Management plans, conduct on-site investigations, and enforce guest security guidelines.
In this role, you will:
- Assist with managing all aspects of security at DU, including the on-site security command center, DU badging and access control, and CCTV systems
- Assist in the management of subordinate onsite Security team members, including hiring, performance management, counseling, and evaluation Snapshots
- Manage the third-party contractor and vendor relationships specific to operational security and technology systems
- Assist with security investigations and engage with Security team leaders, as well as other internal groups, when necessary
- Work closely and collaborate with other DU stakeholders/internal groups
- Responsible for various security-related training programs throughout the year for onsite security guard force, Benchmark staff, and DU-based professionals (i.e., Business Continuity, crisis management, and scenario-based exercises)
- Maintain relationships with local law enforcement, fire, and state/local agencies. Conduct onsite visits with these entities to build relationships and familiarize them with the Deloitte University campus, buildings, environment, etc.
- This Security Manager position is an evening-shift assignment to provide additional security presence. Security Managers at Deloitte University are available to support 24/7 incident response and may provide cross-shift coverage, as needed
- Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.
The successful candidate will possess:
- Proficient and knowledgeable in a wide range of security-related areas, including investigations in a corporate environment, background investigations, business continuity, physical security, crisis management, etc.
- Proficiency with security access control applications, as well as CCTV applications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to oversee and operate an automated incident management system
- Ability to provide exceptional client service by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality, accountability, integrity, and discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills; be able to articulate issues/concerns to guests/co-workers at every level. Does not shy away from difficult conversations and can safeguard sensitive and confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure/demeanor during crises
- Ability to interface with public agencies and Firm leadership
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, including weekends, holidays, etc.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship required
- Must be available for on-call response 24/7
- Bachelor’s degree required; Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or related field experience preferred
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ combined experience in corporate security and/or law enforcement
- At least two (2) years leading and establishing security efforts and/or applicable experience for large corporate or professional service organizations, or a leadership position in law enforcement, preferably in a campus environment
- This role requires the candidate to work onsite; this is not a hybrid or virtual role
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
