Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in New York, NY.
Work You’ll Do
Provide advisory services to financial institutions on the areas of FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 and Chapter 61 of the Internal Revenue Code (1042/1042-S and 1099 reporting), Withholding Partnership rules, Qualified Intermediaries, 871 m), and other global information reporting and withholding regimes. Coordinate international teams across jurisdictions to assist financial institutions with their compliance efforts with these rules. Build relationships with clients and manage engagement workflows while supervising tax consultants. Perform detailed reviews of reporting data, tax form validations, notifications and other FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 and 61 requirements. Contribute to internal technology development by assisting with the design and drafting of business requirements and technology testing. Participate in trainings and educate tax consultants on the impact of these regulations. Will commute within the New York, New York area to perform the above job duties.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Five years as Tax Manager or related occupation gaining experience providing tax advisory services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
- Experience must include five years of:
- Preparing and reviewing FATCA tax returns, CRS reporting, tax forms validation (W-8, W-9 or CRS Self-certifications), 1042/1042-S and 1099 reporting;
- Performing entity classification, registration, and reporting on non-U.S. jurisdictional portals;
- Analyzing clients’ systems to identify gaps and provide solutions in information gathering and other processes necessary for reporting under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) and Common Reporting Standards (CRS);
- Monitoring FATCA and CRS regulations to identify changes issued by the global jurisdictions, and assisting clients with new reporting requirements to determine global impacts;
- Researching foreign tax legislation to analyze differences and provide summary to clients, drafting CRS/FATCA policies and procedures, write-ups on OECD, and IRS new releases, and analyzing and classifying CRS/FATCA-related regulations released by jurisdictions around the world;
- Conducting working sessions with clients’ businesses leads to assist with information reporting activities across the organizations through gathering tax onboarding, withholding and reporting procedures information, and performing gap analysis with the proposed tax implementation policy guidelines;
- Utilizing tax research tools, including GoSystem, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients;
- Interacting directly with senior management of the tax team and tax clients to discuss tax issue resolution and continuity; and
- Assisting with supervising engagements, including full life cycle of engagements, staffing, budgeting, and closing out projects.
- Less than 10% domestic travel outside normal commuting distance.
- Salary: $142,646.00 - $193,440.00 /year.
