The Metaverse is enabled by the convergence of XR, 5G, AI, Cloud, and Web3 technologies. This allows the creation of immersive and interactive spatial environments linking the physical and virtual worlds, and potentially powered by their own native digital economies. Deloitte’s Unlimited Reality practice advises clients and builds Metaverse solutions, focused on Unlimited Reality or Metaverse experiences, Virtual Goods and Commerce, Augmented Work and Learning, Enterprise Simulation, and Trust and Resilience.

Position summary

Work you’ll do

  • Work with stakeholders and design leads to interpret business needs and translate them into objective-driven experience design concepts
  • Participate in client ideation sessions, develop design documentation and wireframing concepts for XR experiences
  • Explain experience design processes and principles to clients in a way that is meaningful and applicable to their given industry
  • Work with a diverse team of 2D and 3D artists and engineers to iterate and implement designs in an Agile methodology
  • Conduct usability testing both internally and with target audiences

What you have:

Key Skills: Human Centered Design, Unity, Unreal

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in experience design or related field
  • A portfolio displaying XR experiences, including design documentation examples
  • Human Centered Design experience     
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Experience working in the Unity or Unreal game engines, and Adobe Creative suite of tools
  • Experience using Git code repositories and versioning tools
  • A self-motivated, problem-solving attitude
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Bonus Points:

 2+ years of professional experience in XR experience design or game design

  • Experience working with clients on training or functional applications (i.e., not pure entertainment or gaming)
  • Additional skills in visual design, 3D design, and/or motion design
  • Willingness to learn new things and teach others what you know
  • Desire to research and develop eminence in experience design

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is $78,000 - $97,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
