Communication Manager, Talent Communications (Rewards, Recognition and Well-being - Total Rewards focus)

Our Talent Communications team is looking for a creative thinker with superlative writing and project management skills to join our team. This individual will oversee our Rewards, Recognition, and Well-being communications, with a substantial focus on our Total Rewards programs. The ideal candidate will have a collaborative attitude and deep experience managing benefits-related communications in a fast-paced and multi-stakeholder environment. What you’ll do:

As a member of Deloitte’s US Talent Communications team, you will report to our Talent Communications Leader, with responsibility to:

  • Develop and execute internal and external communication strategies, campaigns, and messaging for US Talent, with an emphasis on the Talent Rewards portion of Rewards, Recognition, and Well-being communications. Sample campaigns include open enrollment, compensation, performance management, retirement planning, and new benefits.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders to produce clear, consistent, and creative communications that meet strategic objectives, while identifying key communications channels and being mindful of communication overload by streamlining messaging wherever possible.
  • Weave storytelling and human-centered, inclusive language into Talent messaging to personalize the narrative and capture our unique culture, values, and exceptional talent experience.
  • Work closely with leaders and subject matter experts to ensure communications are accurate, align to our business and Talent strategy, and translate into easy-to-digest and actionable content that resonates with our professionals and helps them make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate and seek input across multiple channels, including Talent and parts of the Marketing Excellence organization.
  • Collaborate across the US Talent Communications team, helping to support survey, business, and leadership requests.
  • Manage occasional Talent communications outside of Total Rewards that are a high priority to the Talent leaders and our businesses.
  • Develop individual communication strategies and provide strategic counsel to high-priority stakeholders as they continually evolve and transform our Talent programs and offerings.
  • Assist with preparation of leaders’ talking points, FAQs, presentations, and video scripts, both internally and externally.
  • Measure the impact of your campaigns, share the results with stakeholders, and debrief on best practices and lessons learned.

Qualification required:

  • Communications professional with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience in internal and external communications and a background in employee benefits programs
  • Proven storyteller across media and channels with an understanding of best practices as well as emerging trends in internal and external communications
  • Innovative, curious, growth mindset, willing to learn about, experiment with, and champion new ideas, including projects outside the Total Rewards scope
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and well versed in the Chicago Manual of Style
  • Superlative project and time management skills, delivering high-quality work while meeting tight deadlines
  • Experience working in a virtual team environment, collaborating over web conferencing, email, IM, and other digital tools
  • Can work professionally and effectively with senior leaders and handle sensitive issues with strict confidentiality
  • Open to feedback from multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies and approaches
  • Degree in Communications, English, or Business with expertise in communications practices preferred
  • Knowledgeable in communications software needed to perform the role: all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary tools, video, working knowledge of Web-based communication tools, etc.
  • Travel of up to 10% (While up to 10% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
