Position Summary

Cloud Modernization Consultant

Help create new life for legacy information technology systems.

The Deloitte Application Modernization Team - specialists in converting legacy information technology systems to modern languages - is currently seeking Java or .NET Software Engineers. This is an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in one of the hottest areas in the market.

Recruiting for this role will end on 11/30/2024.

Work you’ll do

  • Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code.
  • Interact with other stakeholders not limited to end-user clients, Project Manager/Scrum master, Business Analysts, offshore development, testing and other cross-functional teams.
  • Develop solutions following established technical design, application development standards and quality processes in projects.
  • Assess the impacts on technical design because of the changes in functional requirements.
  • Perform independent code reviews and execute unit tests on modules developed by self and other junior team members on the project.
  • Conduct tool-based modernization, code analysis, code conversion and automated testing.
  • Research and explore the architecture of legacy and possibly unfamiliar coding languages.

The AMI practice delivers end-to-end technology solutions to enable and improve our clients’ core business operations. AM&I is composed of three different areas- Project Delivery, Application Modernization & Migration and Quality Engineering

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field or equivalent working experience
  • Minimum of 2 years working as a developer in Java or .NET
  •  At least 2 years working with Cloud Service Providers like AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Must have minimum of 2 years working on legacy modernization initiatives.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Preferred:

  • 2 years of using object-oriented design principles and software architectures
  • 1+ year(s) working with data structures and algorithms.
  • 1+ year(s) of Unit testing and Test-Driven Development
  • 1+ years use of software build tools such as Ant or Maven

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $107,925 to $179,875.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
