Job Description: Cyber Risk Detect and Respond Manager

Work you’ll do

As a Cyber Detect and Respond Manager, you will be the lead to help clients with transforming their existing security posture through a combination of SIEM expanse, Cloud migrations, SOC operation optimization and/or Insider Threat detection.  You should possess a deep understanding of the security threats and their techniques, detection, and mitigation options. Experience with incident response, SIEM as well as On-prem and Cloud infrastructure experience is critical for this role.

  • Demonstrate in-depth technical knowledge of the infrastructure leading to security incidents through hands-on experience to investigate, mitigate/remediate security incidents
  • Serve as a Threat/Security Incident Specialist to identify emerging threats through Insider Threat and Infrastructure migrations for an enhanced security management
  • Involve actively in enhancing methodologies for architecture, implementation of existing environments
  • Understanding and leveraging various product capabilities across the gamut of incident response to best serve the needs
  • Identify and recommend operational improvements to the client, drawing on deep experience and industry specific knowledge of risks
  • Analyze complex issues to determine client impact and to suggest alternative solutions based on client needs and objectives
  • Demonstrate capability to enable growth in SIEM, SOC, SOAR, UEBA domains through sales and pursuit activities
  • Manage and grow client relationships (Develop “Trusted Advisor” status)
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the client’s culture, environment (people, process, technology), goals, and security initiatives and communicate all to the engagement team
  • Responsible for on time delivery and quality of all in scope deliverables
  • Act as the primary service representative and client point of contact on tagged engagements
  • Manage any in scope solution projects (integration/ implementations)
  • Manage appropriate engagement management reporting on a periodic basis
  • Manage communications with vendors, 3rd party service providers, Deloitte leadership, and and client personnel
  • Responsible for compliance with all Deloitte firm engagement management requirements
  • Demonstrate ability to manage and motivate multiple project teams in multiple geo-locations

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years working in security monitoring, security engineering and/or security analytics experience
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certification in Certified Intrusion Analyst (GIAC), Continuous Monitoring (GMON), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent
  • Experience in security technologies such as: Security information and event management (SIEM), IDS/IPS, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Proxy, Web Application Firewall (WAF), Endpoint detection and response (EDR), Anti-Virus, Sandboxing, network- and host- based firewalls, Threat Intelligence, Penetration Testing, Advanced Persistent Threats (APT)
  • Understanding of multiple SIEM environments, along with Security Operations processes
  • Involvement in enabling future-ready SIEM environments for On-prem and Cloud environments
  • Involvement of optimization of SOC processes through UEBA and Security Orchestration (SOAR) procedures
  • Core understanding of possible attack activities such as network probing/ scanning, DDOS, malicious code activity, etc.
  •  Core understanding of common network infrastructure devices and networking protocols
  • Bachelor of Science with a concentration in computer science, information systems, information security, math, decision sciences, risk management, engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) or other business/technology disciplines or equivalent work experience
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% required (Mon - Thurs) on a weekly basis (while travel up to 25% is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice). 

Preferred:

  • Proven ability to translate complex information sets into specific recommendations that can be actioned by customers to enhance their security posture
  • Strong understanding of threat analysis and enterprise level mitigation strategies
  • Working knowledge of how malicious code operates and how technical vulnerabilities are exploited
  • Working knowledge of operating systems and networking technologies in general
  • Working knowledge of cyber threats, defenses, motivations and techniques
  • Experience with financial forecast and profitability tracking, risks, or issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong desire to enable the future of the Security Monitoring or Analytics space
