The Tax Transformation Office is focused on developing new service offerings and technology solutions that assist us in delivering tax services to our clients. What you’ll do 

The Development Manager will be responsible for leading design, analysis, development, implementation of service-oriented applications, automation, and providing support for existing systems. The manager should be able to work independently and lead a team of developers to deliver end-to-end solutions for moderate to complex projects in a fast-paced environment and be able to report on project status to the senior leadership team within the organization. The role is expected to lead/mentor teams of Deloitte professionals and contractors (including offshore contractors), providing formal and informal training and regular hands-on assistance.

Position - Key Functions

  • Develop and maintain software services using the technology stacks including .NET MVC and automation software like UiPath
  • Contribute to and lead application architecture and design activities.
  • Interact with business analyst/Client(s) to understand the business problem(s) being addressed by the project.
  • Review project requirements and assess and estimate the necessary time-to-completion.
  • Collaborate to create test plans and scenarios for development unit testing and functional testing.
  • Ensure compliance with development standards and firm technology policies. Work with peers to carry out code reviews and other process reviews.
  • Document and communicate development issues and progress, procedures, or test plans as needed.
  • Interact with other development leads to ensure a consistent approach to software development.
  • Manage a team of onshore/offshore Deloitte professionals and contractor resources, providing technical leadership/guidance/mentorship (direction setting and articulating, consensus building, conflict mediation, etc.)
  • Prepare technical design documents using enterprise standard documentation tools.
  • Deploy all integration artifacts to a testing and production environment

Over the past several years, Deloitte Tax has had great success in delivering technology-enabled tax services to its clients. As a result, Deloitte Tax is expanding its Tax Transformation team. Tax Transformation focuses on developing new service offerings and technology solutions that assist us in delivering tax services to our clients. This is an ideal opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge and innovative start-up environment within the larger Deloitte Tax organization. 




  • 8+ years of progressive experience in developing and leading application development.
  • 5+ years hands-on .NET, frontend MVC framework, and backend enterprise system integrations.
  • 5+ years working knowledge with SQL Server 2016 
  • Deep understanding of design patterns and architectural principles and extensive, real-world experience with distributed and SOA designs
  • Strong experience with one or more popular DI/IOC implementations
  • Experience with Agile Scrum development process (Certified Scrum Developer preferred).
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business/Technology or similar degree required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel-based reporting from web applications.
  • Strong analytic problem-solving, critical-thinking skills.
  • Travel up to 25% (While 25% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
  • Limited Sponsorship – Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • CPA, Enrolled Agent, or other appropriate technology certification (either in process or able/willing to obtain)


  • Experience with frontend frameworks such as AngularJS, enterprise messaging frameworks, and SQL and NoSQL technologies is highly desirable.
  • Experience implementing financial, accounting, or tax software is a plus
