Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in New York, NY.

Work You’ll Do

Develop new services offerings and technology solutions to assist in delivery of tax services to clients. Support software development teams, including gathering and documenting system/business requirements as user stories and use cases, providing process and screen flows, developing and executing test cases and test product concepts, and developing and maintaining project plans. Conduct interviews with technology stakeholders to elicit detailed functional requirements and modeling requirements. Ensure that unique business needs are properly translated to provide technology solutions. Monitor, analyze, and report on technology solutions over the entire software development lifecycle, and manage the success and evolution of tools in the marketplace. Work with all stakeholders to create business cases, and identify and confirm necessary resources throughout the product lifecycle. Cross-coordinate and regularly communicate with other Product Owners to facilitate cross-team collaboration and prioritize and maintain a comprehensive product backlog for all products in the technology portfolio. Assist clients’ tax departments in moving from their current state to the next generation of tax functions to improve their tax operations work with Senior Managers and Managers to deliver tax consulting services to clients. Provide expertise in tax process and data management solutions utilizing workflow, document management, data collection, and portal capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Accounting, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of experience in liaising between the accounting and business teams to ensure account and business requirements are implemented in accordance with current tax regulations.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Performing requirements planning, gathering and analysis by contributing high-level input to requirement gathering sessions in the form of user stories and use cases by coordinating with business sponsors;
    • Leading backlog grooming sessions to ensure the project team has sufficiently and fully defined user stories to facilitate effective sprint planning meetings;
    • Conducting gap and impact analysis of existing and planned applications, and assessing whether applications are properly aligned with business strategies;
    • Designing and developing new business processes, and assessing and recommending improvements to existing processes;
    • Ensuring product/system specifications meet project requirements, and designing mockups, process flow documents, and data flow diagrams on the basis of user inputs;
    • Organizing walkthrough reviews of all design specifications, programs and unit test plans with the business sponsor;
    • Liaising between business team and software development team to ensure that requirements are implemented as per business need, and ensuring performance requirements are met and applications are effective for users;
    • Drafting test plans and test scripts for system and UAT testing for all projects and testing changes based on release scope and perform business analysis using Agile and Waterfall development methodologies;
    • Identifying and raising key issues and risks and contributing to risk mitigation decisions and reporting the project status of various services, consolidating the key highlights and metrics; and
    • Handling change management system by understanding change requests submitted by business users and following the approval management process by conducting impact analysis.
