Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Minneapolis, MN.

Work You’ll Do

Assist clients to balance compliance details and long-term tax strategies as well as understand federal, state and local, and international tax structures and align tax functions with business objectives. Provide day-to-day client service relationships and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client’s overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and other members of the team to understand each organization’s global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect the business. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Primary responsibilities include participating in complex tax research projects for clients in diverse industries, and researching and analyzing a wide range of tax issues related to business transactions and the tax implications of financing techniques for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Undertake tax compliance assignments for current and former executives of client corporations and partners of client organizations. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for federal and individual clients. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary.

Requirements

  •        Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  •        Eighteen months of experience providing tax planning services or preparing client work papers and tax returns.
  •        Experience must include eighteen months of:

o   Preparing foreign activities related forms, including Forms 8621, 5471, 8865 and 926, Partnership Form 1065, Individual Form 1040, Trust Form 1041, and S-Corporate Form 1120-S for US taxpayers;

o   Utilizing Bloomberg Tax and CCH SmartChart to research and solve complex tax issues;

o   Utilizing tax software, including GoSystem and CCH Axcess to provide tax compliance services to clients;

o   Preparing Gift Tax Return and supported tax options on family wealth management and planning;

o   Designing and simulating models to estimate future benefits from possible S-Corporation to C-Corporation entity type conversion in preparation of Tax Reform;

o   Conducting research and analysis in order to calculate complex tax adjustments raised from the 2017 Tax reform, including 163J interest expense limitation and qualified business income deduction (199A);

o   Preparing state tax returns for individual, trust and partnership entities and calculating state source incomes and state level tax adjustments;

o   Designing Alteryx workflows to process client financial information, including trading history, capital inflows/outflows, and other high-frequency client information; and

o   Calculating monthly and/or quarterly economic gain allocation reports for partners or shareholders of private wealth management clients.
