Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Washington, District of Columbia.

Work You’ll Do

Develop and assist clients in implementing global tax strategies for large multinational corporations to provide ETR reduction and help mobilize global cash. Advise U.S. and foreign multinational companies on the U.S. tax implications of their international operations. Coordinate U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. Mentor and support the development of junior members. Analyze and data mine various tax and transaction related documents. Utilize tax technology to leverage data gathered and utilize existing modeling methods to provide advice to clients for various matters that align with their business objectives. Draft tax memoranda/opinions on applicable federal income tax consequences. Research and prepare materials for consulting projects related to tax planning considerations. Prepare tax computation projects for clients in diverse industries. Communicate with internal teams, clients, and non-stakeholders. Research various U.S. federal income tax issues as well as monitor and evaluate the impact of evolving non-U.S. tax rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Law, Business Administration or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent)
  • Eighteen (18) months as Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience performing tax planning for outbound and inbound U.S. multinational corporations.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • analyzing and data mining international tax compliance forms and informational returns, including Forms 1118, 1120F, 5471, 5472, 8865 and 8858 disclosures and statements;
    • analyzing work papers to determine companies' tax profiles, including foreign tax credits, 861 deductions, subpart F, Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (GILTI), Base Erosion and Anti-Abuse Tax (BEAT), Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII), 163(j), material non-U.S. tax jurisdictions, and Pillar Two;
    • advising clients on various international tax issues with respect to their overall tax profile in the context of global restructuring, acquisitions and dispositions, and evolving supply and value chains;
    • writing tax memoranda on applicable federal income tax consequences;
    • advising clients on efficiencies related to their overall cash mobilization and repatriation strategies, considering the availability of U.S. and non-U.S. tax attributes;
    • analyzing and reviewing M&A documents and proposed deal structuring;
    • utilizing tax technology to leverage data gathered and utilizing existing modeling methods to provide advice to clients for international compliance and reporting as well as tax planning opportunities that align with their business objectives;
    • utilizing CCH, BNA, Lexis Nexis and RIA Checkpoint to research various U.S. federal income tax issues and monitoring and evaluating the impact of non-U.S. tax rules;
    • communicating directly with senior members of client teams and internal teams to discuss engagements including findings and recommendations; and
    • mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Position requires approximately 50% domestic travel.
  • Salary: $90,020.00 - $167,180.00/year.
