Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Los Angeles, CA.

Work You’ll Do

Work with local office Deloitte Tax professionals to assist clients with fundamental tax planning and analysis. Work to understand company-specific business and tax issues and work with the company to optimize its tax position to identify and mitigate risk areas. Review and revise draft technical memoranda to document project development process. Arrange meetings with client subject matter experts. Review and recommend revisions for the assembled client deliverable. Prepare strategic analysis of consolidated and standardized source data.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Taxation, Economics, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of experience providing research and development tax credit and incentive services.
  • Experience must include one year of:
    • Researching complex issues related to IRC Section 41 and performing data analyses including recent court tax decisions and impact on IRC Section 41 analysis;
    • Coordinating with internal and external client Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine qualifications of projects and gather filed data, drafting technical memorandum, and conducting technical interviews with SMEs;
    • Drafting detailed business component reports;
    • Building credit models using Microsoft Excel based on quantitative and qualitative inputs, and consolidating clients' information, including acquisition and disposition, tax position, and industry news to optimize clients' credits and incentive opportunities;
    • Reviewing client work papers, and performing variance analysis and trend analysis using Microsoft Excel to ensure consistency and completeness of source data and sufficient document retention; and
    • Interacting directly with client tax management to collect and organize payroll and general ledger source data for credit and incentives analysis.
  • Position requires approximately 20% domestic travel.
  • Salary: $81,620.00 - $151,580.00/year
