Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Senior in Las Vegas, NV.
Work You’ll Do
Assist clients to balance compliance details and long-term tax strategies as well as understand national, state and local, and international tax structures and align tax functions with business objectives. Provide day-to-day client service relationships and serve as the gateway to a variety of specialized tax services that can help improve compliance with taxing entities while maintaining each client’s overall tax risk profile. Work closely with clients and other members of the team to understand each organization’s global goals and strategies and how industry and economic trends affect the business. Provide compliance and consulting services to corporate, passthrough, and individual clients. Identify complex tax issues and provide tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates. Assume tax-planning responsibilities for federal and individual clients. Mentor and coach junior team members and escalate issues when necessary. Apply federal tax compliance principles and work closely with clients as well as the Deloitte Tax Team to further clients’ global goals and strategies and align them with industry and economic trends. Help with facilitating firm trainings. Will commute within the Las Vegas, NV area to consult with clients regarding the above job duties.

Requirements
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Eighteen months of experience providing tax planning services or preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns.
- Experience must include eighteen months of:
- Assisting with preparation and detailed review of tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations using CCH Axcess, GoSystem, and Corptax;
- Assisting with preparation and detailed review of income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 for private and public companies for quarterly and year-end provisions using OneSource Tax Provision;
- Researching federal tax legislation to assist in understanding the impact on compliance and consulting;
- Performing complex partnership computations, including IRC 704(c) computations, and basis adjustment computations under IRC 743(b) and 734(b);
- Preparing Trust Return 1041, Form 1040, Form 1065, and Form 1120;
- Utilizing LexisNexis, BNA, CCH and RIA Checkpoint to research and solve complex tax issues;
- Assisting with coordinating and facilitating internal meetings on matters including new tax compliance technologies and tax technical legislation;
- Reviewing taxable income calculations and income reconciliations prepared by tax consultants;
- Assisting with project administration, including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing; and
- Mentoring and coaching junior staff.
- Less than 10% travel outside of normal commuting distance.
