What you’ll do

As a professional in Deloitte’s Tax Technology Consulting (TTC) team, you will be a part of team that provides a holistic and integrated approach to refine and further automate our software development lifecycle. As an experienced professional whose broad-based skills and experience include SQL Server development, architecture, and performance tuning will be an integral part of our team.

SQL Server Database Engineer - Manager will contribute to the growth and success of Deloitte Tax LLP in a variety of ways, including:

  • Rapid technology implementation: Work with latest technology to enhance business needs
  • Quality: Write robust SQL code, with regular feedback, troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Collaboration: Working closely with team throughout the full software development life cycle
  • People development: Participate in the development of team members
  • Cross Functional Teaming: Understand and articulate the broader TTC practice and Deloitte overall

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar degree
  • 5+ years of experience in relational database development (preferred SQL server) experience including utilizing SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL Server 2017+ architecture and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
  • 5+ years of data modeling and design experience with Analytical and transactional data
  • 5+ years of Data Architecture/Database development experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Platform elements including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with NoSQL technologies such as Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Graph DB
  • Hands on development experience using OLAP and OLTP platform
  • Monitor and perform performance tuning of stored procedures
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited Sponsorship – Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • An approved applicable certification or one of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing able to obtain:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
      • If not CPA eligible:
      • Licensed attorney
      • Enrolled Agent

Preferred:

  • Experience with Big 4 and/or taxonomy
  • Experience with Data streaming, SSAS, SSIS
  • Experience with Azure PaaS like Azure SQL DB, Azure Table Storage
  • Experience developing within a data warehouse environment
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to organize and plan work independently
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills

The TTC Development team develops, deploys and configures our Custom Tax Portal Application at our clients’ sites. TTC Dev offers a full solution of tax-based process and technology services (including product implementations) to enhance a corporate tax department’s ability to deliver value-added contributions to its organizations. The scope of services includes the design and implementation of multiple advanced analytics technology and data management solutions.
