Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in Austin, TX.

Work You’ll Do

Provide an integrated approach to process improvement that can help the tax department maximize its strategic value to the organization. Oversee the day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors. Oversee and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. Oversee teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design and flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures. Perform role of counselor and coach. Provide input and guidance into the staffing process. Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities. Provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices. Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients. Organize and lead pursuit teams. Participate in and lead aspects of the proposal development process. Contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Engineering Management, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Three years of experience performing ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software configuration and implementation.
  • Experience must include three years of:
    • Developing cloud-based ERP software, including SAP S/4HANA, using object-oriented programming language ABAP, and creating functional specification documents for custom objects in SAP S/4HANA, including reports, forms, interfaces, workflows, and conversions;
    • Designing and configuring SAP financial modules through use of new general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax, and Controlling functions, integrating financial and tax SAP modules with Sales and Distribution, Materials Management, Project System, Production Planning, and Plant Maintenance modules, and utilizing SAP software packages, including Financial Accounting (FI) modules, for finance and technology consulting processes;
    • Delivering tax technology projects by identifying, creating and implementing globally scalable processes and solutions for clients, including developing interfaces between SAP ERP software and tax bolt-on applications, including Thomson Reuters ONESOURCE, to automate tax calculations for various business processes in ERP systems;
    • Conducting workshops with Tax, Sales and IT stakeholders, gathering and documenting indirect tax requirements for businesses, and performing requirement analysis and system fit/gap analysis;
    • Coordinating project activities throughout all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle for the implementation of ERP software, from requirement gathering to design and development, unit testing, code migration, quality assurance, and deployment to production;
    • Developing test scripts for integration testing and user acceptance testing cycles using testing tools, including HP ALM or Micro Focus ALM;
    • Developing detailed VAT sales/purchase reports and sales/use tax reports using SQL-based query language;
    • Evaluating and recommending new tools, technologies, and processes for tax technology solutions, developing and delivering training programs for newly implemented technology solutions, and multi-tasking across a range of high-level environments, including tax performance testing, unit testing, integration testing, user-acceptance testing, go-live, and extended support;
    • Developing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools to assist tax departments to automate functions, including preparation of tax forms, master data maintenance, and collecting data from sources, and developing dynamic and interactive Tableau dashboards for data analytics to assist tax departments with analyzing large volumes of collected data to identify issues for business opportunities; and
    • Mentoring, delegating, and training junior staff and interns on technical improvements and client-facing skills, and collaborating with both on and offshore teams on client engagement matters.
  • In the alternative, the employer is willing to accept a Bachelor's degree and five years of experience as stated above.
  • Position requires approximately 80% travel.
