Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in Raleigh, NC.

Work You’ll Do

Provide an integrated approach to process improvement that can help the tax department maximize its strategic value to the organization. Oversee the day-to-day interactions with executive clients and sponsors. Oversee and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. Oversee teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design and flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, and defining support procedures. Perform role of counselor and coach. Provide input and guidance into the staffing process. Actively participate in staff recruitment and retention activities. Provide leadership and support for delivery teams and staff in local offices. Develop and maintain contact with top decision makers at key clients. Organize and lead pursuit teams. Participate in and lead aspects of the proposal development process. Contribute to the development of proposal pricing strategies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Three years as a Tax Manager or related occupation gaining tax planning services and/or tax technology solutions experience.
  • Experience must include one year of:
    • Reviewing business process, work papers, and tax returns to gather tax requirements, and reviewing functional specification documents to identify tax impact;
    • Utilizing accounting, tax law, and technology experience to evaluate and assess business processes;
    • Designing business processes using MS Visio tools, and designing and configuring SAP financial modules through use of new general ledger accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, tax, bank accounting, fixed assets, and controlling functions;
    • Integrating financial and tax SAP modules with Sales and Distribution, Materials Management, Project System, Production Planning, and Plant Maintenance modules;
    • Drafting test scenarios related to direct and indirect tax for testing, and resolving any defects;
    • Gathering and documenting direct and indirect tax requirements for business and performing system fit and gap analysis, and impact analysis;
    • Implementing ERP tax solutions, including requirements analysis, design of solution configuration of system and testing go-live, and developing solutions for implementing transaction tax tools, including ONESOURCE Indirect Tax and Vertex, that integrate with Oracle/SAP;
    • Developing business cases to justify decisions for implementing ERP systems with tax software;
    • Assisting with requests for proposals (RFPs) and direct client interfacing to discuss engagement-related matters; and
    • Assisting with the full lifecycle of an engagement, including staffing, billing, and closing out projects, and mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Position requires approximately 80% domestic travel.
