Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in Philadelphia, PA.

Work You’ll Do

Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of projects as well as technology and provision consultation in the delivery of provision process and technology projects to Tax System clients. Oversee large technology projects. Implement tax technology tools. Guide clients through their selection of software packages. Assist clients with their evaluation of their current processes and data flow surrounding tax technology tools and help them implement improvements. Train clients on how to use the tax technology tools implemented, and support clients with their use of tax technology tools. Supervise assignments carried out by Consultants and Senior Consultants. Help develop and motivate engagement staff, and provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance. Identify and effectively communicate project status and tax technical/service issues to the senior management team, including Partners, Principals, Directors, and Senior Managers.



  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Management, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Three years of tax automation experience.
  • Experience must include three years of:
    • Collaborating with finance and IT teams to increase tax-relevancy of finance data in databases and data warehouse systems using tools, including SQL, to collect and report tax requirements;
    • Utilizing Power BI to perform data extraction, transformation and loading of client data to counter process quality issues and enable automation for complex business and tax processes;
    • Designing Alteryx workflows to automate various direct and indirect tax processes;
    • Utilizing region-specific customized ONESOURCE dataflow and workflow solutions for data collection and task management for data providers;
    • Utilizing advanced features, including macros, to create Alteryx applications and workflows, and developing tools, including SUT calculations, Trial Balance uploads and ONESOURCE/Vertex template uploads, to automate tax processes;
    • Utilizing Azure Cloud technologies to perform tax enterprise data and operations transformation projects for clients;
    • Utilizing Power BI, Alteryx, and MS SharePoint to develop transformation reporting and dashboards for clients; and
    • Performing all stages of the engagement life cycle, including planning, risk assessment and mitigation, execution, testing, review, and maintenance, to ensure that clients meet demands for tax reporting and compliance.
