Deloitte Tax LLP seeks a Tax Manager in New York, NY.

Work You’ll Do

Work within Deloitte Tax's National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) practice's Partnerships Solution Group (PSG) to assist in setting the standard for investment management tax technology by creating and working with the Internet-based Process and Compliance system (iPACS) platform to drive value for private equity, hedge funds and mutual funds clients. Oversee the development and use of custom technology tools such as SAP HANA, SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) Enterprise Reporting and Query Designer to assist with the complex tax analysis and reporting needs of private equity, hedge, and mutual fund clients. Responsible for day-to-day oversight of multiple client engagements and supervise teams. Assist with the design and implementation of proprietary and third-party technologies that make up the iPACS platform. Interact directly with clients and other Deloitte practices. Oversee the economics of client projects. Mentor and develop engagement staff, providing leadership, counseling, and career guidance.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Economics, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Three years of experience preparing tax analysis for tax compliance and planning services for investment management companies.
  • Experience must include three years of:
    • Utilizing SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence to build dynamic tax analysis reports for partnership tax compliance and K-1 review and build key tax deliverables for clients;
    • Utilizing tax software, including MS Excel, MS Access, GoSystems, ProSystems, Corptax, and Superforms, to provide tax compliance and consulting services to various clients;
    • Reviewing client projects comprised of tax technology consulting services, including design, development, implementation and deployment;
    • Collaborating with clients to assist, design, and streamline their tax compliance processes, including partnership-specific tax calculations, IRC 704(c) and basis adjustment computations, allocations through tiered partnership structures, and Schedule K-1 preparation;
    • Utilizing VBA and Alteryx to automate tax compliance processes, increase efficiency, and reduce risk;
    • Preparing tax analysis reports for supervisor review and maintaining mappings of various tax reports in systems based on client needs and tax regulations;
    • Processing user access requests, addressing questions regarding system operations, updating and maintaining federal and state tax filing registers to bridge tax return printing engines, and providing timely production support and guidance to users and clients;
    • Mentoring and coaching junior team members; and
    • Assisting with scheduling and assisting senior management with monitoring engagement billing and budgets.
  • Position requires 20% domestic travel.
  • Salary: $131,206.00 - $135,000.00.
