Work You’ll Do
Work directly with clients and oversee tax engagement teams on direct and indirect tax matters. Maintain and develop strong client relationships on various state and local income/franchise tax consulting/compliance engagements. Act as a trusted business advisor to clients on a variety of issues, including income and franchise tax matters, apportionment reviews, filing methodologies, nexus analysis, tax credits, state tax audit defense services, voluntary disclosures as well as state tax implications of federal tax reforms. Oversee engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing. Assist with drafting and presenting new proposals to new and existing clients. Provide leadership, counseling, and career guidance for the development and motivation of the engagement team. Direct and review analysis of direct tax obligations for clients in the retail & manufacturing industry. Provide state and local direct tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industry sectors. Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues and tax implications.

Requirements
- Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
- Five years of experience preparing and reviewing tax returns, estimates, extensions, and provisions for corporations and partnerships in multistate jurisdictions.
- Experience must include five years of:
- Providing income and franchise tax consulting, tax planning, and state tax audit defense, nexus analysis, tax credits, state tax implications of federal tax reforms and providing support for income tax accounting services group for multistate companies;
- Utilizing tax software and tools, including ONESOURCE, GoSystem, Superforms, RIA CheckPoint, BNA, and CCH, and tax automation tools to perform tax research and review U.S. and multistate income tax returns for business entities;
- Performing state taxation services, including state apportionments, modifications, and state and local credits calculations, based on varying state regulations and tax reforms;
- Preparing complex tax technical memos and responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs) and various tax notices;
- Utilizing Bloomberg terminal and LexisNexis to research and solve complex tax issues;
- Preparing and filing withholding and composite returns for C-Corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies in multistate jurisdictions;
- Providing due diligence for state-related tax matters, including mergers and acquisitions; and
- Assisting with overseeing engagement workflow, engagement team resources, and engagement billing, and mentoring and training junior team members.
