Work you’ll do/Responsibilities

Our client is a large scape Oil and Gas industry headquartered in Houston TX. Their products include diesel, gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), aviation fuel, and lubricants which it supplies to American states in the South, Mid-Atlantic, and the Northeast. The role is a Solution Architect for a Corporate Data Warehouse hosted on Cloudera with Talend as Integration Tool. This individual will be responsible for enhancing and optimizing the current data management landscape for their Corporate Tower. They will be directly working with the Client’s IT as well as Business stakeholders to design, build and deliver their Business needs with respect to the data warehouse.

The Analytics & Cognitive team leverages the power of data, analytics, robotics, science and cognitive technologies to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, and inform decision-making. Together with the Strategy practice, our Strategy & Analytics portfolio helps clients transform their business by architecting organizational intelligence programs and differentiated strategies to win in their chosen markets. 

Analytics & Cognitive will work with our clients to: 

  • Implement large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms
  • Leverage automation, cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions
  • Drive operational efficiency by maintaining their data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise and providing As-a-Service offerings for continuous insights and improvements

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Experience in designing solutions on Big Data Eco Systems
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or Big Data developer role
  • 3+ years of experience in building scalable and high-performance data pipelines using Apache Hadoop, Map Reduce, Pig & Hive
  • 3+ years of experience in Talend for Data Integration
  • Experience in Optimizing the ETL pipelines and query performance tuning in ETL
  • Experience in working with varied set of source systems
  • 3+ years or experience in Python & Unix Shell Scripting
  • Experience with bigdata cross platform compatible file formats like Apache Avro & Apache Parquet
  • Hands on big data performance tuning and optimization experience in Map Reduce and Pig
  • Strong SQL knowledge with ability to work with the latest database technologies.
  • Strong data & logical analysis skills
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred

  • Have worked on Azure and other cloud technologies
  • Talend Administration
  • Oil & Gas industry proficiency

  • Must be willing to live and work in the Greater Houston, TX area. Relocation assistance provided to qualifying candidates after COVID restrictions are lifted.
