Work you’ll do
- Participate in design and development of complex electronic systems with an emphasis in military based tactical communication systems.
- Perform critical timing and worst-case power consumption analysis for new product lines.
- Participate in the design validation and qualification of new ATDL product lines.
- Support the MIDS industry vendors in the design, build, test, and deploy communications systems using Software-Defined Radio (SDR) and SDR frameworks, as well as field programmable gate array (FPGA) technologies.
- Support the MIDS industry vendors in the design, develop, construct, test and maintain hardware and software processing components, typically subsystems of communication, collection, and processing.
- Have the knowledge of emerging technologies in designing and testing RF communications and networks for airborne applications, including software defined radios and networks, omnidirectional and directional antenna technologies, and secure data transport technologies.
- Apply principles, methods, analysis, and applications of radio frequency theory such as radio wave propagation, antenna theory, and antenna usage.
- Provide Radio Frequency (RF) circuits and systems engineering expertise, especially as it relates to military communications in general, and MIDS products, provide RF engineering support for all phases of MIDS products, and review IRs, ECPs and PRs related to RF issues or concerns, including Internet Protocol (IP) and mobile ad hoc networking.
- Support working on a team of engineers (Hardware, Software and Systems) on communications related programs.
- Review functional performance and qualification test plans and/or procedures.
- Review and interpret supplementary test data (i.e., antenna patterns, EMC reports, interrogation management schemes, co-site analysis, etc.).

Qualifications
Required:
- An active Top Secret clearance is required to be considered for this role with the ability to eventually obtain a Top Secret with access to Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or other related engineering or computer science discipline Minimum ten (10) years of experience performing management, reduction, and analysis of data, designing tests, and laboratory analyses, including scientific analyses and interpretation of research results.
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience performing hardware engineering management, reduction, analysis of data, designing tests, and laboratory analyses, including scientific analyses, and interpretation of research results
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with hardware engineering that includes hardware planning, requirements analysis, design, development, integration, and testing
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience with design and development of complex electronic systems with an emphasis in military based tactical communication systems
- Expert knowledge of RF principles and the certification process through entities such as the Navy-Marine Corps Spectrum Center (NMSC)
- Experience supporting or collaborating with any of the following agencies:
- National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)
- Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
- Commerce Spectrum Management Advisory Committee (CSMAC)
- Navy-Marine Corps Spectrum Center (NMSC)
- or another Spectrum Analysis Center.
Preferred:
- A Master of Science degree from an accredited college or university in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or other related engineering or computer science discipline is highly desired.
