Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Specialist Senior, Strategy & Analytics, Analytics & Cognitive in Parsippany, NJ and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

  • Functioning as an integrator between business needs and technology solutions, responsible for developing/implementing technology solutions to meet business needs.
  • Providing accurate analysis and effective diagnosis of project issues, identifying business requirements, supporting procedures for implementation, functional design, prototype, and process design, including scenario design and flow mapping, testing, and training.
  • Taking part in defining system strategy, developing system requirements and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines
  • Designing and developing data governance standards, roles and responsibilities, data conversion strategies, and facilitating data conversion, mapping and cleansing workshops.
  • Designing and developing data models for Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
  • Understanding project needs and pain areas and implementing BI application solutions to meet their analytical requirements.
  • Driving software advisory and implementation services to unlock the value of technology investments as discrete services or comprehensive solutions for clients in the Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, State and Local Government, Telecom, and Retail industries.
  • Performing assessments of existing information systems and identifying gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities; providing application analysis to meet software architecture and infrastructure goals.
  • Designing sub-components of larger systems, integrating the applications with each other, and continuously optimizing the system structure to improve stability and performance. 
  • Researching user reported issues with software systems, identifying root causes and resolutions, implementing fixes, and liaising between business functions, end users, and technical delivery teams. 
  • Tracking implementation defects using defect tracking tools, coordinating defect resolution efforts, and documenting resolution details. 
  • Participating in the setting of engagement objectives and scope, developing work plans for components of engagements, coordinating activities between workstreams, and identifying changes in scope.
  • 80% travel required nationally.
  • Telecommuting permitted.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and two (2) years of related work experience. Must also have two (2) years of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Designing and developing data models for BI applications using Tableau, QlikView, Qlik Sense, SAP Business and Objects (BOBJ);
  • Conducting performance tuning of applications, including performance maintenance/upgrades on applications programs and systems as required;
  • Loading data from QVD (QlikView Data) files, Microsoft Excel, flat files, text files and SQL Server 2005/2008 (Structured Query Language) to develop QlikView Data Models; and
  • Gathering requirements directly with users/clients and providing technical solutions for the business requirements.
  • 80% travel required nationally.
