Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Specialist Senior, Core Business Operations, Systems Engineering in Dallas, Texas and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally. 

 

Work You’ll Do 

Drive software testing and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments, ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, testing to deployment, and beyond as discrete services and comprehensive solutions in the Insurance, Financial Services, Healthcare, State and Local government, Telecommunication, and Retail industries. Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between workstreams and identify changes in scope. Perform assessments of existing information systems and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities; provide application analysis, testing, and application modification or refactoring services to meet architecture and infrastructure goals. Review test cases and perform Functional, Non-functional, System Integration (SIT), Black-box, White-box, and End-to-end testing of software applications.  Perform test estimation, test planning, test design, test execution, test reporting as well as coordinate testing and test artifacts across all phases of testing, such as SIT, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), End-to-end, and Performance testing. Lead testing of sub-components of larger application systems; integrate the applications with each other and continuously optimizing the system structure to improve stability and performance. Research user reported issues, identify root causes and resolutions, implement fixes, and liaise between business functions, end users, and technical delivery teams. Create technical and functional system requirements and use cases, including screen layouts, navigation flows, logic diagrams, data models, and process models.

Requirements 

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or a related field and two (2) years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must also have two (2) years of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Designing, developing, and validating SQL (Structured Query Language) queries in BTEQ (Batch Teradata Query) scripts, Apache Hadoop, and Hive scripts through Splice Machine, Informatica workflows, and Teradata loader scripts to transform raw data into meaningful, actionable data;
  • Translating business requirements into functional specifications for configuration and validations of front-end web portals integration with back-end C++ and Dotnet modules using Selenium and Java;
  • Managing and delivering components of client engagements related to analytics and information management systems using Jira, HPQC (Quality Center), IBM Rational Team Concert, and IBM ClearQuest;
  • Designing and developing with architecture and technical teams to finalize design approaches to transform data to achieve business needs while ensuring seamless integration with existing architecture;
  • Implementing and using data analytics for profiling data from multiple sources to weigh in and help assess the technical feasibility and effort involved in designing, coding, and validating code changes as part of the rigidly defined user stories in Jira; and
  • Profiling source data and presenting datasets to discuss, review, and refine SQL and HiveQL (Hive Query Language) queries until they meet business needs within Teradata using Teradata SQL Assistant, Hadoop using PuTTY and Apache Zeppelin, and using other traditional databases including Oracle, Microsoft (MS) SQL Server and DB2.
