Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a SPECIALIST SENIOR, CORE BUSINESS OPERATIONS, CLOUD ENGINEERING in Jersey City, NJ and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

Drive the development of Cloud-based technologies, including data cleansing and conversions, interface design and development, and systems development life cycle. Enable end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud including the design and development within the following focus areas: Cloud messaging, ground-to-Cloud connectivity, Cloud Strategy, Operating Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration and APIS (Application Programming Interface), Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure and Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. Participate in all aspects of the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, application configuration design, business process analysis, scripting, code deployments, enhancement validation, triage of defects and change requests, and escalations. Design and develop data governance standards, roles and responsibilities, and design data conversion strategies and facilitate data conversion, mapping and cleansing workshops to support the conversion to Cloud. Convert legacy data according to current systems data structure using data warehouse concepts and design conversion strategies and mapping rules between legacy data and the current system database to facilitate data conversion. Create technical and functional specifications, including screen layouts, navigation flows, logic diagrams, data models, process models, and pseudo code, to be used for application development. Assess existing information systems, identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities, and estimate time and resources needed for the development work. Design sub-components of larger application systems, integrate applications, and continuously optimize the system structure to improve stability and performance.

Bachelors degree (or foreign equivalent) in engineering (any), computer science, or a related field and two (2) years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must also have two (2) years of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Analyzing current state environment, creating deployment topology, and mapping to future state environments for Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)/Pivotal Container Service (PKS) deployment on Cloud providers including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and VMware vSphere;
  • Designing network architecture to setup Active-Active High Availability cluster and Active-Passive High Availability cluster for different environments, creating load balancers, and setting up firewall rules allowing demilitarized zone (DMZ) and non-DMZ access to specific applications;
  • Designing Data Center layouts and architecture to deploy Pivotal Operations Manager, Application Service (PAS), Pivotal Container Service (PKS), and different services tiles to setup PCF and PKS environments;
  • Deploying and configuring Concourse to set up continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipeline for upgrading individual components of PCF and PKS;
  • Modernizing and transforming applications to Cloud native by using the Twelve-Factor App methodology and following test-driven development approach to build microservices and deploy on PCF;
  • Building and deploying configuration management tools including Jenkins and Concourse, and setting up CI/CD pipeline to deploy applications onto Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) tools; and
  • Designing and developing architecture framework for Cloud Migration and Database Migration from On- premise to different Cloud providers including AWS, Azure, GCP, and PaaS tools.
