Position Summary

Service Modernization is a Hybrid-Operate business within Deloitte that offers a comprehensive set of turnkey AI solutions and accompanying services that include implementation and operation of the solutions for its customers.

Service Modernization solutions help enterprises transform themselves for a machine-centric world by modernizing the experiences and interactions that they have with their customers while also optimizing and automating their operations. 

The first industry vertical that the business addresses is Retail. In support of this program, we are looking for a Marketing Director.


The Business Development Director will be responsible for leading the market activation by conducting market research to identify the right prospects for the solution, establishing contacts, building relationships to develop and progress the pipeline, and working collaboratively with sales in driving deal closures. The Business Development Director joins a team of other senior professionals that are responsible for developing this new offering.


  • Take responsibility for creating a detailed business development plan including target accounts, a strategy and approach to developing the pipeline, a data driven approach to funnel management and optimization
  • Build trust with prospects by demonstrating that you are an expert in the industry, you understand the prospects' business, and that our success can only result from their success
  • Deliver results against ambitious targets while enlisting the support across product, technology, operations, legal, and compliance
  • Partner with marketing in creating and executing demand generation strategies
  • Own the engagement lifecycle from prospecting to close
  • Execute plan to strategically build and maintain relationships with customers to enable business success
  • Lead key C-suite meetings, communications, and negotiations; coordinate and bring in subject matter experts when needed
  • Manage internal stakeholders including legal, operations, solution development, for timely/successful delivery/issue resolution
  • Become the voice of customer internally and, thereby, help influence the solution roadmap
  • Provide regular updates to the management, prepare senior executives for customer meetings


  • 10+ years of experience managing strategic B2B customers, executive relationships, and business development
  • Experienced and conversant with digital transformation and related technologies (AI, cloud, data/analytics, automation, etc.)
  • Proven ability to think analytically and strategically to assess problems and opportunities with customers
  • Demonstrated success building strategic relationships with customers and driving growth
  • Success selling in new business, products, solutions and/or services
  • Proven ability managing multiple stakeholders toward an ideal outcome, working across a cross-functional organization, with particular focus on technology, and solutions
  • Persuasive and powerful communicator, able to clearly convey complex ideas, build alignment and manage difficult conversations
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, MBA preferred
  • Knowledge of Retail Industry is a must, Grocery preferable

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $126,535 to $233,030. 

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
