Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Senior Solution Specialist, Customer & Marketing, Human Services Transformation in Gilbert, AZ and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally. 


Work You’ll Do 

Drive software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments, ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, testing to deployment, and beyond as discrete services or comprehensive solutions. Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope; develop work plans for components of engagements; and coordinate activities between workstreams and identify changes in scope. Lead the evaluation of technology needs; develop customized applications and draft technical and functional design documentation; and identify and mitigate risks in processes and technology for engagements. Perform assessments of existing information systems and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities; and estimate time and resources needed for the development work. Design sub-components of larger application systems; and integrate software applications with each other and continuously optimize system structures to improve stability and performance. Define systems strategy and develop system requirements; design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions; and support system implementation.

  • 15% travel required nationally.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), or a related field and two (2) years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must also have two (2) years of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining high-volume and low-latency Java applications with complex business logics, as required for sensitive systems with PII (Personally Identifiable Information) and confidential data and writing well-designed, efficient, and testable code;
  • Collaborating with Developers and Testers during development to ensure technical design objectives and initiatives of engagement are being met;
  • Conducting software analysis, programming, developing, testing, and troubleshooting application deployments, utilizing Java Development Kit (JDK), Eclipse Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and, IBM Rational Application Developer (RAD);
  • Analyzing existing enterprise systems and developing enhancements to maintain integrity and improve architecture, while ensuring that architecture designs comply with specifications;
  • Leading and training new staff functionally and technically on existing enterprise systems, understanding business challenges and translating into technical solutions, and mentoring during analysis, design and build stages of projects;
  • Utilizing design patterns, including Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Extensible Markup Language (XML), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Java, Java Server Pages (JSP) and servlets, Extensive Markup Language (XML), and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), JavaScript, and jQuery for resolving development issues for enterprise-level clients;
  • Utilizing Oracle and IBM Db2 to write complex SQL queries and developing database solutions to satisfy business requirements utilizing Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), SQL, Object-Relational Mapping (ORM), and Java Persistence API (JPA); and
  • Developing software applications, utilizing Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), Spring, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), and Representational State Transfer (REST).
