Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Senior Solution Specialist, Core Business Operations, Systems Engineering in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

Drive software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments, ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, and testing to deployment, as discrete services or comprehensive solutions.  Participate in developing work plans, coordinate with onshore teams on requirements and resolution of queries, coordinate activities between workstreams and identify changes in scope.  Lead the evaluation of technology needs, develop customized applications and draft technical and functional design documentation; identify and mitigate risks in process and technology for engagements.  Perform assessments of existing information systems and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities; estimate time and resources needed for the development work.  Design sub-components of larger application systems; integrate software applications with each other and continuously optimize the system structure to improve stability and performance.  Define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, any STEM field or a related field.

Two years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.

Must have two years of experience with:

  • Participating in full software development lifecycle (SDLC) for custom web application development, from analyzing requirements and proposing solutions to business problems to continuous delivery;
  • Configuring code base and implementing design solutions for respective problem statements;
  • Implementing business logic in Java EE (Enterprise Edition) and Spring using Hibernate with Java Persistence application programming interface (JPA) framework;         
  • Utilizing MySQL, Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) to design data models and convert and manipulate data;              
  • Developing user interface for applications using jQuery, JavaScript, Ajax, Bootstrap, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and HTML5;            
  • Implementing functional requirements and building screens to generate, upload, view and edit documents using JavaScript, Spring MVC (Model-View-Controller), Hibernate, and JPA;        
  • Performing data exchange from Authoritative Data Sources (ADS) using RESTful (Representational state transfer) and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) based web services;
  • Implementing Ansible Playbooks to perform database migrations and deployments on Red Hat Ansible;
  • Implementing change requests and performing triage of defects, escalations, and urgent issues; and
  • Writing unit test cases for web and business layer using JUnit.
