Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Senior Solution Specialist, Core Business Operations, Systems Engineering in Lake Mary, FL and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

Drive software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments, ranging from requirements to architecture, design to development, testing to deployment, and beyond as discrete services or comprehensive solutions; Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between workstreams and identify changes in scope; Lead the evaluation of technology needs, develop customized applications, draft technical and functional design documentation, and identify and mitigate risks in process and technology for engagements; Perform assessments of existing information systems, identify  gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities, and estimate time and resources needed for the development work; Design sub-components of larger application systems; integrate software applications with each other and continuously optimize the system structure to improve stability and performance; Define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation.

       15% travel required nationally.

       Telecommuting permitted.

Requirements

BACHELORS DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, ENGINEERING (ANY) OR RELATED FIELD AND TWO (2) YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE JOB OFFERED OR IN A RELATED OCCUPATION. MUST ALSO HAVE TWO (2) YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE INVOLVING EACH OF THE FOLLOWING: COMPLETING LIFECYCLE OF PROJECT FROM REQUIREMENTS GATHERING TO DEPLOYMENT BASED ON WATERFALL AND AGILE METHODOLOGIES; WORKING WITH SCRUM MASTER, PRODUCT OWNERS AND BUSINESS ANALYSTS TO SET UP ACCEPTANCE CRITERION DURING THE REQUIREMENT PLANNING SESSIONS, DEFINING THE SCOPE OF WORK, AND CREATING ESTIMATIONS FOR DELIVERABLES; DESIGNING NEW DATA MODELS IN INFORMATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM DATABASE (IMS DB) AND DB2, CREATING NEW SEGMENTS, TABLES, STORE PROCEDURES, AND STRUCTURED QUERY LANGUAGE (SQL) QUERIES, AND DESIGNING REPRESENTATIONAL STATE TRANSFER (RESTFUL) WEB SERVICES TO SEND IMS DB DATA TO JAVA APIS (APPLICATION PROGRAMMING INTERFACE) VIA JAVASCRIPT OBJECT NOTATION (JSON); ENHANCING ONLINE TRANSACTION MANAGEMENT AND CONNECTIVITY FOR APPLICATIONS IN MAINFRAME SYSTEMS UTILIZING IMS DB APPLICATION SERVERS; DEVELOPING APPLICATION CODE USING STRUCTURAL & OBJECT ORIENTED PROGRAMMING (OOP) LANGUAGE, CREATING TEST BATCHES USING JOB CONTROL LANGUAGE (JCL) SCRIPTS AND USING IBM FILE MANAGER TO VALIDATE AND RESOLVE DATA ISSUES; DRIVING BUSINESS DECISIONS AND MONITORING AUTO ADJUDICATION RATES OF CLAIMS BY DATA WAREHOUSING ACTIVITIES INCLUDING DATA MINING AND REPORT CREATING USING TERADATA SQL; DESIGNING FLOW FOR THE CROSS-SYSTEM INTEGRATION BETWEEN APPLICATION SYSTEMS THROUGH MICROSOFT VISIO AND PRESENTING TO ARCHITECTS, MANAGER AND BUSINESS USERS TO CREATE AN ENHANCED APPLICATION WITH IMPROVED STABILITY; ANALYZING AND IDENTIFYING SYSTEM AUTOMATION TOOLS LIKE STROBE AND IBM APPLICATION PERFORMANCE ANALYZER (APA); SUPPORTING QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) TEAMS DURING SYSTEM TESTING, USER ACCEPTANCE TESTING (UAT) AND INTEGRATION TESTING USING IMS DC TRANSACTIONS, MS VISUAL BASIC SCRIPTS, APT TOOLS AND CLAIMS EXTRACTS.
