Position Summary

Job Overview:

Payroll Tax Administrator duties include, but are not limited to, ensuring tax compliance for biweekly payroll by using the SAP R/3 system results to verify, prepare, and maintain accurate tax deposits, returns, and records for multiple tax jurisdictions.


Job Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local payroll tax, unemployment, disability insurance regulations and requirements by balancing the biweekly payroll taxes and making all regulatory deposits and filings.
  • Aid in the preparation of all required quarterly and annual returns including the preparation and dispatch of W-2’s, W-2c’s, 941’s, 940’s, and State and Local Reconciliations.
  • Make all tax returns and deposits via latest technology possible including Internet, EFT, and manual filings.
  • Maintain a customer service center providing payroll tax support and SAP system expertise to Payroll Resource Team.
  • Research unusual employee situations involving complex payroll tax issues.



Payroll tax is a technical profession.  To be successful in this position, the candidate:

  • Must have a working knowledge of a multitude of payroll and payroll tax laws and procedures.  This position requires experience in dealing with federal, state, and numerous local tax jurisdictions.    Also candidate must possess a working knowledge of multi-state regulations for reciprocal agreements.
  • Experience with Puerto Rico and/or Canada payroll tax is a plus.
  • Must be able to apply regulations in practical situations.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in multi-state withholding and multi-state unemployment tax filing required.
  • Must possess outstanding analytical skills.
  • Must have experience in Word and Excel, Access experience a plus.    
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a team player and be able to consistently meet rigorous statutory, firm, and department deadlines.
  • MasterTax Experience preferred.
  • CPP a plus
