Position Summary

Senior Manager, Financial Reporting

The team

Financial Reporting is part of Deloitte’s Accounting & Compliance organization and reports to the Chief Accounting Officer under the Deloitte US CFO. Financial Reporting provides stewardship by driving accurate financial reporting. The group is responsible for the compilation and dissemination of financial information for multiple stakeholders, including, but not limited to, the Partners and Principals of the Deloitte US Firms, management, government agencies and regulators, and financial lenders.

The work you’ll do

Financial Reporting is looking for an experienced Senior Manager to manage the team developing financial reporting for the US Deloitte Member Firms and subsidiaries, driving a collaborative environment with senior finance leadership, overseeing technology implementations and enhancements, driving new reporting opportunities and leading related transformation efforts. The Senior Manager will be responsible for optimizing roles & responsibilities across the team and other groups involved in the financial reporting processes, and managing any operating model shifts. In this role you will have the opportunity to drive strategic investments in our reporting processes to keep pace with the firm’s growth and meet our expectation of providing timely, comprehensive, and agile financial reporting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the multiple processes and personnel to support the global platform which enables the financial reporting of the Deloitte US entities
  • Manage the financial reporting team that produces consolidated and subsidiary financial statements for the US Member Firm, including India statutory reporting and reporting to the global network
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the relevant Firms’ complex infrastructure and reporting requirements, and lead preparation and review of select quarterly and annual financial statements including all supporting documentation for filings
  • Develop and design, in cooperation with senior management, any new disclosures, financial statements, or reports (e.g., GAAP, GSA) required or requested
  • Evaluate financial reporting requirements for acquisitions, transactions or changes to our business or operations (e.g. new delivery centers)
  • Discuss and determine application of accounting concepts with senior management for presentation in financial statements
  • Collaborate with Controllership during the accounting period closing cycles to drive efficient and accurate legal financial reporting
  • Develop and improve existing financial reporting processes with focus on standardization and optimization
  • Oversee the implementation of technology to enhance reporting processes (e.g., Workiva financial reporting tool)
  • Develop a deep understanding of financial data structure and sources
  • Manage multiple organization structures for all Deloitte entities including master data maintenance, requiring in-depth communication with business and enabling area controllers and leadership to continuously ensure accurate management financial reporting
  • Oversee or advise on the maintenance of G/L systems infrastructure to support all applications with inputs to the General Ledger (A/R, A/P, etc.) or financial statements
  • Emphasis on internal controls, continual process improvement, automation, and training of various stakeholders are essential

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA required
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Experience with financial analysis and reporting
  • Must have strong knowledge of US GAAP and the ability to research and document conclusions on complex accounting transactions
  • Strong technical aptitude relating to accounting information systems; prior SAP, Analysis for Office, and reporting tool (e.g. Workiva) experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team, but also be a self-starter
  • Strong written and verbal executive-level communications
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced dynamic environment; project management experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work across multiple levels of leadership and across diverse cultures, time zones, and geographies
  • Minimal travel required; this role is predominantly remote with the option to work from home or a nearby Deloitte office
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,100 to $232,300.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
