Position Summary

The chief purpose of Learning & Development is to bring out the best of every person and the best of every team at Deloitte, so that we can deliver the best of our Firm to our clients. The L&D team focuses on:

Work you’ll do

  • Serve as the Development Leader for the Client Leader Development portfolio, including learning content for Commercial Industry, Government & Public Services, Client & Market Growth and Sales. 
  • Serve as a credible and trusted development advisor to business stakeholders on effective, leading-edge, business-aligned learning strategies for all those populations
  • Lead a team of Senior Managers, Managers and Specialists that will partner with internal and external teams to increase innovation, drive business outcomes and engage the modern learner through education, experience and exposure opportunities
  • Serve as one of a small number of leaders on the Deloitte Leadership team helping to give direction, set overall priorities and be the voice of your area for the good of the greater whole as we collectively prepare for the future of work
  • Take the lead on setting the vision and strategy, as well as driving execution for a subset of those annual priorities including stakeholder awareness and approval, collaboration across groups and vendors as needed, and measuring the impact to the business
  • Drive change management, stakeholder management, and effective communication strategies across teams within Deloitte Leadership and those that partner with it
  • Oversee program budgets and actively manage the budget and forecast with period-by-period accuracy.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts and SOWs as work is needed across various projects.
  • Lead with excellence and foster a high-performing team (made up of direct reports, rotational roles, and vendors) in a virtual environment; develop people through advocacy, coaching, mentoring and training.
  • Foster collaboration with global team members (USI L&D resources, Learning Design Services, and global stakeholders).
  • Actively partner with peers across Learning & Development and share ideas and best practices across other functions.
  • Contribute to additional Talent and Firm initiatives aligned with individual strengths and goals as opportunities present.

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced learning and talent development leader skilled at working with business stakeholders, peers and internal/external resources to achieve business results through innovative solutions.  This person is accountable for being a business thought partner in bringing innovation to the table to address the performance needs and create sustained behavioral change. 

 

The Team

You’ll be working on the Deloitte Leadership Learning team, within the Learning & Development function in Deloitte. Learning & Development delivers business-focused, efficient, and innovative learning and development programs and experiences, thoughtfully designed to help our professionals best serve at every stage of their career. Through the work of this group, development at Deloitte is not just about education – development is a vital part of Deloitte’s leadership culture.

 

Within this environment, the Senior Manager will exercise a high degree of independence in planning and executing strategy and will foster an innovative and forward-thinking development mindset on the team.  Specific focus areas include:

  • Building knowledge of industry trends and insights, in both Commercial and Government sectors
  • Developing sales and client relationship capabilities which drive growth
  • Development of practitioners specifically in Deloitte’s Client & Market Growth business

 

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree; Minimum 12 years of related experience
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, professional services environment
  • Proven team leadership skills
  • Established track record for taking a consultative approach to designing and delivering innovative learning programs with measurable business results
  • Go-to resource for leader development, adult learning theories, leading-edge instructional design methods, performance consulting, communications and change management
  • Strong strategic and critical thinking to identify interdependencies between issues, data, and outcomes; clear understanding of how moving pieces come together to build the big picture
  • Significant program management experience in successfully planning, managing and delivering multiple concurrent and complex work streams in a matrixed organization
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that build relationships at all levels in the organization with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build consensus
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and present data-driven insights and trends
  • Demonstrated curiosity, resilience, emotional intelligence, effective teaming and agility to operate in an increasingly dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to communicate ideas and insights in person, virtually, and in writing, succinctly and with impact, understanding what is relevant vs. what is “noise” to the audience. Strong creative writing skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office skills and ability to produce deliverables that carry a “stamp of excellence.”
    • In Excel, aggregate data, conduct complex analysis and display results visually
    • In PowerPoint, translate data into insights and tell a logically structured, succinct, and compelling story tailored to your audience; convey clear and easily actionable recommendations
    • In Word, create clear, concise communications with a user-friendly layout conducive to cognition.
  • Ability to travel 20%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future

Preferred:

  • MBA or other advanced degree in training and development, human resources development, education, organizational psychology or related field
  • Prior professional services experience 


For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is $139,190 to $256,330. 

 

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance
