Position Summary

Overview
 
The Director of Product Management is a senior leadership role responsible for the overall product line strategy, profit and loss (P&L), product team development, product operating model effectiveness, and objective attainment within a product line. This role focuses on creating the conditions that enable empowered product teams to solve complex customer problems that align with and solve for business needs. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy Development and Execution
    • Own and evolve the product line strategy, vision, and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.
    • Engage cross-functional teams in co-creating and evolving the strategy based on emergent insights from measured results and evidence.
    • Champion the product line strategy and keep the organization informed of progress.
  • Product Team Development
    • Recruit, staff, coach, and develop Product Managers who can solve complex problems through rapid experimentation.
    • Foster a learning-forward, customer-centric, and value-oriented mindset within product teams.
    • Ensure safety for experimentation and learning within product teams.
  • System Improvement
    • Actively engage with product teams to Identify and remove impediments slowing value achievement.
    • Continuously improve and streamline the product operating model to enhance market value delivery and achievement.
    • Form effective team topologies to align with objectives and remove obstacles.
  • Outcome-Oriented Transformation
    • Evangelize the shift from output to outcomes within the organization.
    • Educate and include stakeholders in the new product operating model.
    • Demonstrate the value of empowered product teams through action and evidence.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum or 12 years of proven experience in product management or related roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years as a people leader
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Conclusion
The Director of Product Management is a pivotal role in driving the success of the product line by balancing customer needs with business objectives. This role requires a blend of strategic vision, leadership, and a collaborative approach to deliver valuable, viable, and feasible solutions.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144300 to $265600.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
