Position Summary

Deloitte Tax LLP's International Core of Excellence (ICE) is a US-based team of highly experienced, international tax practitioners from some of the world's largest countries and key financial centers. Twenty-four countries are currently represented, each by a Tax Desk located in New York and Chicago. Tax professionals of ICE utilize demonstrated experience in foreign tax systems and work with US Deloitte Tax LLP professionals to help develop business.

Work You’ll Do:

The ICE Senior Consultant specializes in corporate and international tax. In this position, you will be advising the U.S. and foreign multinational companies (MNC) on the tax implications of their international operations as well as coordinating U.S. tax laws with foreign tax laws to develop an optimal worldwide tax strategy. The individual has in-depth, first-hand experience in a wide range of industries. They are familiar with the tax consulting process and have the professionalism necessary for the effective diagnosis, solution, development, and implementation of clients' tax needs. They will direct complex tax research, formulate tax-planning strategies, and perform tax reviews. They will utilize their knowledge of the home country and International Tax Laws to concentrate efforts on a variety of international compliance, research, consulting, and planning issues. The assignee will provide home country tax services to the firm's MNCs and will interface and coordinate with the home country and US firm's International Tax practices and GSC lead tax partners to deliver high-value tax-savings ideas to the firm's clients. The assignee will generate revenue based on the sale of these services and will develop tax-savings ideas as they relate to US-home country taxes. They will use their expertise in home country taxation to assist international corporate clients. They have the extensive proven technical expertise and have developed a reputation within this organization. 

Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Assist with complex tax projects for clients in diverse industries.
  • Team on engagements requiring tax analysis for a variety of companies and their affiliates.
  • Research, analysis, and collaboration with engagement teams on a wide range of tax issues.
  • Support country Desk Leader in his/her role to identify service opportunities, manage client accounts and billing, and advance various Deloitte initiatives.
  • Collaborate with both US and home country tax teams on client engagements and marketing opportunities.
  • Supervise assignments of the Consultants assigned to the home country tax desk.



  • 2+ years international tax experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or comparable degree
  • Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing able to obtain:
    • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
    • If not CPA eligible:
      • Licensed attorney
      • Enrolled Agent


  • Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
  • Previous Big 4 or large CPA or law firm experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Experience working in a virtual and/or global environment
  • Passion for leveraging technology and exploring new technology solutions
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office, Licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or progress toward such accreditation
