Deloitte LLP seeks a Senior Consultant, Strategic Services in Chicago, IL.

Work You’ll Do

Collaborate with Deloitte leaders to future-proof our business. Support a variety of activities, which include: "Future of..." industry and cross-industry programs. Work together with Deloitte leaders to develop and shape a perspective on the Horizon 3 (10-year) future. Develop foresight tools and methodologies and help train practitioners across Deloitte on learning the Fast Forward scenario-development methodology and toolkit. Support various discussions, working sessions with senior leaders of Deloitte to generate new options for re-design of the business. Conduct external research and participate in creative sessions to help frame up critical issues. Support content development workshops. Collaborate with various groups across Deloitte to support these activities (e.g., practitioners, industry leaders, Research & Insights, Greenhouse, Monitor Institute by Deloitte, Innovation, etc.), including workshop design, content creation, and ideation. Contribute thought leadership and perspectives, actively sharing views, connecting dots across various domains, including experiences outside Deloitte. Help Deloitte evolve toward becoming a market making business solutions firm in addition to nurturing its market taking professional services business, while actively creating markets that address human centric ecosystems and societal issues. Guide junior team members in developing content, conducting research and analysis, and supporting our work through various other activities, including ideation and workshop facilitation. Will commute within the Chicago, IL area to consult with clients on the above job duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Information Systems, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent).
  • Eighteen months of experience applying strategic, long-term (5+ years) foresight targeted at driving improved social impact of business operations and future-proofing the organization.
  • Experience must include eighteen months of:
    • Designing and facilitating sensitive strategy discussions and conducting workshops with senior leadership and professionals regarding uncertainties and future implications;
    • Analyzing industries to synthesize quantitative and qualitative information on the market, key players, and industry trends, and identifying critical change-drivers and key insights;
    • Creating innovative and transformative solutions that address next generational needs and creating effective long-term (5+ year) visions, strategies, and roadmaps, in direct alignment with and support of business objectives;
    • Facilitating the connection of strategic foresight (5+ year) to systems-level implications encompassing multiple stakeholders, including clients, society, and the environment, through delivery and facilitation of foresight and scenario workshops;
    • Customizing, executing, and facilitating scenario development and analysis utilizing leading methodologies and frameworks, including multi-factor, drivers-based scenario techniques, war gaming, and STEEP analysis;
    • Utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint to design compelling, intuitive, and actionable visual communications of analysis results, proposed solutions to project problems, status updates/project communications, and to provide training on complex topics to both specialist and non-specialist audiences;
    • Utilizing Microsoft Excel to create and calculate data models, perform data cleansing, implement data validation rules, and perform statistical data analysis; and
    • Mentoring and coaching junior team members to support professional development and facilitating relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Less than 10% domestic travel outside of normal commuting distance.
