Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Senior Consultant, Mergers & Acquisitions, M&A Strategy, Diligence & Value in McLean, VA and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

Work You’ll Do

GUIDE CLIENTS ON KEY CONCEPTS AND STRATEGIES FOR M&A (MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS) ENGAGEMENTS, INCLUDING M&A CAPABILITY DEVELOPMENT, TARGET SCREENING, DUE DILIGENCE, POST-MERGER INTEGRATION, SYNERGY IDENTIFICATION AND CAPTURE, AND SYSTEM CUTOVERS. SYNTHESIZE M&A STRATEGY FOR CLIENTS BY ANALYZING A WIDE VARIETY OF SOLUTIONS, SELECTING THE MOST RELEVANT TOOLS/TECHNIQUES TO MEET SPECIFIC CLIENT REQUIREMENTS SUCH AS BUSINESS CASE, PRICING, OR COMPLEX FINANCIAL ANALYSIS, AND INTERPRETING AND REPORTING ON OUTPUTS. ASSIST CLIENTS TO OPTIMIZE THEIR PORTFOLIO, IDENTIFY THE RIGHT TARGETS AND ASSESS FIT TO CLIENTS STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES, DEFINE HOW TO DEPLOY M&A IN ALIGNMENT WITH THEIR CORPORATE STRATEGY, TO DRIVE PROFITABLE GROWTH AND COMPETE EFFECTIVELY IN THE INDUSTRY. DEVELOP HYPOTHESES FOR VALUE CREATION AND TRANSFORMATION CREATIVELY; ASSESS VALUE, COSTS, TIMING AND RISKS FOR OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH STRATEGIC AND OPERATIONAL DILIGENCE; EVALUATE CRITICALLY A TARGETS ATTRACTIVENESS THROUGH OPERATIONAL ASSESSMENTS AND RISK MITIGATION STRATEGIES. TEST THE INFORMATION THAT INFORMS A CLIENTS M&A DEAL VALUATION AND POST-MERGER ACQUISITION PLAN; VALIDATE A TARGETS RECURRING REVENUE, GROWTH, AND MARGIN SUSTAINABILITY, AS WELL AS CONDUCT RAPID PRIMARY RESEARCH ON ITS MARKETS, CUSTOMERS, SUPPLIERS, AND COMPETITORS WORLDWIDE. CONDUCT MERGER & ACQUISITION (M&A) TRANSACTION ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING LARGE-SCALE SEPARATION, INTEGRATION, DUE DILIGENCE, TRANSACTION PLANNING DRIVEN TASKS. PARTICIPATE IN SETTING ENGAGEMENT OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE; DEVELOP WORK PLANS FOR COMPONENTS OF ENGAGEMENTS, COORDINATE ACTIVITIES BETWEEN WORK STREAMS AND IDENTIFY CHANGES IN SCOPE. DESIGN DELIVERABLE CONTENT TO PRECISELY REFLECT THE ENGAGEMENT CONTRACT AND CLIENT NEEDS AND STRIVE TO IMPROVE DELIVERABLE QUALITY THROUGH VERIFICATION AND VALIDATION OF RESULTS. MANAGE 3-5 EMPLOYEES INCLUDING ANALYSTS AND CONSULTANTS.

Requirements 


BACHELOR’S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION OR A RELATED FILED AND TWO (2) YEARS OF PROGRESSIVE RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE. MUST ALSO HAVE TWO (2) YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE INVOLVING EACH OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • DEFINING CLEAR SCOPE PROJECT EXPECTATIONS AND RISKS FOR CLIENTS BY IDENTIFYING KEY REQUIREMENTS ALIGNED TO INDUSTRY STANDARDIZED PROCESSES AND BEST PRACTICES;
  • DESIGNING AND COORDINATING DASHBOARDS ANALYSIS IN MICROSOFT EXCEL AND TABLEAU TO ASSIST BUSINESSES IN MAKING BETTER STRATEGIC DECISIONS ON THE PREPARATION FOR DAY 1 MIGRATION, SUPPORTING TEAMS BY PROVIDING WEEKLY STATUS UPDATES AND COMMUNICATING WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS;
  • CONDUCTING INTERVIEWS WITH INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CLIENTS TO IDENTIFY DATA NEEDS FROM SELLERS' COMPANY KEY OPERATION PROCESSES, PREPARING AND PROVIDING KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER DOCUMENTS, PREPARING TEAMS FOR PRODUCTION DAY ONE MIGRATION, AND COMPLYING WITH ANTITRUST LAWS;
  • PARTICIPATING IN CLIENT MEETINGS WITH FUNCTIONAL TEAMS TO UNDERSTAND CLIENTS' BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS AND ASSISTING WITH BUILDING PROJECT PLANS, TRACKING ACTIVITIES, AND RESOLVING RELATED ISSUES UTILIZING ADVANCED MICROSOFT (MS) EXCEL AND MS PROJECT;
  • DEVELOPING MATERIAL FOR, AND SUPPORTING, LARGE CROSS-FUNCTIONAL WORKSHOPS FOR PLANNING AND IMPLEMENTING OPERATIONS-FOCUSED INTEGRATION AND SEPARATION PROJECTS AS THE RESULT OF M&A ACTIVITY;
  • PARTICIPATING IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND PRESENTATION OF PROPOSALS FOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES DURING M&A PROJECT, HIGHLIGHTING RISKS AND ISSUES FOR CLIENT EXECUTIVES AND STEERING COMMITTEE MEETINGS; AND
  • LEADING STATUS REPORT REVIEW ACROSS MULTIPLE WORKSTREAMS TO IDENTIFY RISKS AND ISSUES ON MEETING M&A AND PROJECT TRANSFORMATION TIMELINES.
  • 80% TRAVEL REQUIRED NATIONALLY.
