Position Summary

Deloitte Consulting LLP seeks a Senior Consultant, Customer and Marketing, Human Services Transformation in Indianapolis, Indiana and various unanticipated Deloitte office locations and client sites nationally.

 

Work You’ll Do

Drive software development and implementation services to help companies unlock the value of big technology investments, ranging from requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and beyond, as discrete services or comprehensive solutions. Lead the evaluation of technology needs, develop customized applications, draft technical and functional design documentation, and identify and mitigate process and technology risks for engagements. Perform assessments of existing information systems and identify gaps between business requirements and current system capabilities, and estimate time and resources needed for development work. Design sub-components of larger application systems, integrate software applications with each other, and continuously optimize the system structure to improve stability and performance.  Define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design, prototype, and test custom technology solutions, and support system implementation.  Participate in setting engagement objectives and scope, develop work plans for components of engagements, coordinate activities between workstreams, and identify changes in scope.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Engineering (Any), or a related field and two (2) years of related work experience in the job offered or in a related occupation. Must also have two (2) years of related work experience involving each of the following:

  • Gathering requirements and conducting JAD (Joint Application Design) sessions with the client using Jira, IBM RTC (Rational Team Concert), PMC (Project Management Center), and Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, Power Point and Visio to draft both technical and non-technical design documents;
  • Customizing sub-modules of the application based on client needs using MS Visio and Excel, Eclipse, Oracle SQL (Structured Query Language) Server and Progress Corticon Business Rules Engine code development software;
  • Resolving performance bottlenecks and improving database response using JProfiler (Java Profiler) and optimizing Oracle SQL queries in applications;
  • Performing code review using Eclipse and maintaining code review checklist for release deliverables using MyEclipse and Java;
  • Addressing complex business functionalities by invoking Progress Corticon using XML (Extensible Markup Language) based REST (Representational State Transfer)/SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) web services and inline Java EJB (Enterprise Java Beans) with an RMI (Remote Method Invocation) interface;
  • Designing and developing technical architecture of applications using JSP (Java Server Pages), EJB, and Apache ActiveMQ APIs (Application Programming Interface) technologies; and
  • Performing requirements gathering and analysis, designing, coding, testing, implementing, and maintaining Waterfall and Agile methodologies in the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
