Senior Cognos Developer

Work you’ll do/Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to evaluate business needs and priorities, liaise with key business partners and address team needs related to Cognos development.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications; establish and define details, definitions, and requirements of applications, components and enhancements.
  • Participate in project planning; identifying milestones, deliverables and resource requirements; track activities and task execution.
  • Demonstrate expertise in Cognos Framework Manager modeling; including designing different metadata layers and implementing complex business logic with familiarization in transactional and dimensional modeling.
  • Metadata creation, creating report specifications, integration, test planning, testing and implementation support.
  • Cognos security implementation and user group maintenance.
  • Build the reporting solution while adhering to data warehousing best practices.
  • Resolve data and performance issues by coordinating with database team.
  • Interacting with business team and understanding reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of MES (Medicaid Enterprise Systems) is a plus.

The Analytics & Cognitive team leverages the power of data, analytics, robotics, science and cognitive technologies to uncover hidden relationships from vast troves of data, generate insights, and inform decision-making. Together with the Strategy practice, our Strategy & Analytics portfolio helps clients transform their business by architecting organizational intelligence programs and differentiated strategies to win in their chosen markets.

 

Analytics & Cognitive will work with our clients to:

  • Implement large-scale data ecosystems including data management, governance and the integration of structured and unstructured data to generate insights leveraging cloud-based platforms.
  • Leverage automation, cognitive and science-based techniques to manage data, predict scenarios and prescribe actions.
  • Drive operational efficiency by maintaining their data ecosystems, sourcing analytics expertise and providing As-a-Service offerings for continuous insights and improvements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Statistics/Technology/Science/Engineering/Applied Mathematics or a similar quantitate analytics field.
  • 6+ years of experience with Cognos BI suite (Framework Modelling (Relational & Dimensional Modelling), Reports, Dashboards and Cubes).
  • 6+ years of experience with data warehousing business solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience with PostgreSQL and ETL solutions.
  • 2+ years of experience in AWS.
  • Travel up to 20% (While 20% of travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice).
  • Must be willing near, or relocate to, Mechanicsburg PA, Gilbert AZ or Lake Mary FL area.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Understanding of MES (Medicaid Enterprise Systems)
