Work you’ll do
Senior Training Specialist / Instructor for Continuity of Operations (COOP) courses; Experience leading workshops and acting as instructor for COOP/Emergency Management/Operational Resilience;
As a Senior Consultant within our practice you will:
- Enhance the client’s ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disruptive events
- Participate in and lead the development of crisis and grants management processes, procedures, and guidance resources
- Help clients develop comprehensive crisis management, occupant emergency, business continuity and resilience plans and programs including playbooks, frameworks, and testing & exercise curricula
- Design, develop, and deliver crisis management and continuity of operations (COOP) trainings; design, develop, and facilitate crisis management exercises
- Interpret and adhere to guidance, policy, and regulations in a predictable and consistent way
- Conduct peer reviews of grants to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper supporting documentation
- Research and analyze a wide range of information and create insightful analysis in accordance with strict deadlines, including presenting and incorporating relevant data and visualizations
- Identify, collect, synthesize, and evaluate large amounts of data to draw logical and actionable conclusions
- Work alongside subject matter experts to deliver client solutions
- Participate in the development of deliverable content that meets the needs of the client and contract while identifying opportunities for efficiencies and innovative approaches
- Build strong relationships with clients, including senior leaders in federal, state, and local government
- Maintain responsibility for completion and accuracy of work products
- Contribute to the growth and development of the Crisis and Grants Management practice including through proposal development
- Manage your own personal and professional development through training courses, mentoring, and daily interaction with clients

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Engineering, Emergency Management, Crisis Management, Risk Management, Business Administration, Economics, Political Science, Mathematics, Geography, Geospatial Intelligence or related field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Active Top Secret security clearance required
- 10+ years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas: emergency management, crisis management, risk management, continuity of operations, business continuity, resilience, geospatial analytics, federal, state, or local
- Previous experience supporting clients perform COOP
- Experience advising federal, state, or local government stakeholders on strategies to prepare for, respond to, and recover from crises
- Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced working environment; provide rigorous, creative insight in complex situations; and exhibit advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage technology to solve problems
- Demonstrated ability to write clearly, succinctly, and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation creation tools, as well as Internet research tools
- Must be able to obtain and maintain required clearance for this role
Preferred:
- Completed the Continuity Excellence Series - Level II Master Continuity Practitioner Requirements
- 10+ years of relevant experience in incident management, crisis communications, disaster recovery, exercise design and delivery, grants management, public assistance, hazard mitigation
- HSEEP exercise design and evaluation experience preferred;
- Associate Business Continuity Professional or equivalent certification preferred
