The Solutions Network (SNET) SAP Practice

SNET is a global team with unique, in-depth, innovative technical skills, it’s a Technology Center of Expertise with highly skilled technical resources. SNET enables Deloitte Consulting to sell and deliver client projects, drive innovation, and enable our Consulting team with the right skills at the right place at the right time. SNET gives opportunity to develop creative offerings that differentiate Deloitte from its competitors, reducing time to market and the costs of delivery. SNET addresses common questions and resolves technical issues that Deloitte professionals are facing on client and internal projects.

The SNET SAP Manager will be responsible for leading all activities related to SAP team’s Advisory Services, Architecture, Operations, Innovations, Trainings, Pursuits, and Practice Support initiatives. This individual must understand thoroughly how to leverage infrastructure architecture to be an innovative problem solver and visionary.

The position will be focused on the following activities:

  • Lead Architect, Solution provider to Client projects and lead the Basis activities.
  •  Provide technical support for the SNET and our clients including Pursuits, RFP responses, and solution development and sustainment
  • Efficiently managing the delivery and support of multiple simultaneous projects by leveraging project management tools (MS Enterprise Project Management, JIRA, Service Now)
  • Handling project management tasks for individual projects. Includes initial needs assessment, scope definition, resource planning, managing milestone/deliverable targets, and project closure.
  • Developing processes for repeatable solutions that will enable the SNET to manage and deploy solutions in a cost effective manner as well as enable the team to work more efficiently in day-to-day operations.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with the Deloitte practices supported by the team to proactively drive revenue opportunities to the SNET as well as to identify and address practice support needs.
  • Managing the human resource aspects of the team. This includes teaming skills and conflict resolution, goal planning, reviews, career development, and continuing education objectives.
  • Deliver technology advisory and implementation solutions that extract and maximize business value from IT investments for SNET and our clients
  • Encompasses architecture, engineering, and provide third level support for operations services for the IT strategy, innovation, operations, and infrastructure required to deliver efficient and effective platforms fundamental to business success
  • Provide subject matter expertise in SAP products to resolve technical issues, consulting, and hands-on client project support
  • Architecture, design, and support of the SNET hybrid cloud offering, Research and development on the latest virtualization technology, tools, and capabilities
  • Work with application owners/groups to ensure proper architecture and function of Deloitte's server infrastructure
  • Work with alliances and vendors to provide emerging platforms
  • Identify business and technical requirements for new and existing technologies
  • Review operations and business requirements for projects pertaining to Deloitte's server infrastructure with all project teams, management and client services groups for deployment and ongoing operations support

The SAP team works with alliances and vendors to provide emerging platforms so that our applications teams are able to deliver exceptional value to our clients, and research and development for the practice. The ideal candidate will have extensive infrastructure architecture, server virtualization and cloud experience. This position will require up to 50% travel. Partial telecommuting options are provided.

Ability to travel up to 50% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Personal Qualifications

  • 12+ years of relevant professional experience in a large, diverse, server environment
  • 2+ Years of HANA architect, design and project experience is a MUST
  • Experience in SAP Migrations to HANA using latest tools like DMO and SUM
  • Experience with SAP Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure and the likes (migration from on-premise to cloud is an advantage)
  • In depth knowledge of VMWare virtualization tools and hardware vendors certified for SAP products
  • Bachelor-level degree in engineering, information technology, data communications, telecommunications, computer science, or equivalent educational or professional experience and/or qualifications
  • Experience participating in all aspects of large-scale Enterprise Architecture projects including identification, planning and cost estimation through requirements, design, development, testing, implementation and production
  • Demonstrated record in leading and instilling service disciplines and team work
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge of emerging SAP technology solutions, industry trends, and progressive operations methodology
  • Experience translating the end state business and technology models into architectural blueprints including recommendation of third party components, definition of required custom components, and determination of the appropriate ones to use
  • Experience identifying gaps in existing client skill base and developing documentation to include job descriptions for key architectural positions, skill requirements and required certifications for roles/positions, inventory of required competencies by job description/role, and an inventory of required technical skills by job description/role
  • Experience defining the specific metrics which communicate the benefits of an architecture program to the business; tracking to what extent those benefits are being delivered on an ongoing basis; and identifying metric stakeholders and owners
  • Knowledge of project management methodology
  • Proven experience with project management software (intermediate to advanced knowledge level in at least one common package).
  • Experience with SAP applications and databases from an architecture, infrastructure, and SAP Basis perspective.
  • SAP Certification is a plus
  • Prior Big-4 consulting experience highly desired
  • Goal oriented with high efficiency in managing & delivering while multiple projects in parallel
  • Eagerness to mentor junior staff

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $145,000 to $199,000.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
