Position Summary

Work you’ll do

As a Quality Assurance Lead - QA Developer on our team you will be working to design and implement testing infrastructures by writing code to validate a large scale application and partner with functional QA team to build a robust automation framework and automate regression test suite. Additionally, you will:

  • Develop and automate processes for gathering of expected results from data sources and comparing data results from testing
  • Own the test automation framework and build appropriate test automation where needed
  • Write, monitor, execute, and evaluate application tests using industry standard automated testing tools
  • Set up data, tools, and databases to facilitate the testing process
  • Work within an agile team and collaborate with the team to ensure quality software
  • Work with the team to understand how changes in the software product affect maintenance of test scripts and the automated testing environments.
  • Maintain well organized records of test results and generate historical analysis of test results.
  • Ensure sufficient test coverage for all user stories
  • Perform both scripted and functional test execution
  • Collaborates with Tax SMEs, Business Analysts, and application developers to ensure a shared understanding of the business model and the detailed function requirements.
  • Creates and maintain the Test Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrices, Test Cases, and Test Metrics.
  • Designs test plans in a manner that supports both manual and automation testing for web-based tax applications.
  • Executes end-to-end functional and automated tests cases and creates clearly documented defects that enable a developer to recreate the issue.
  • Write SQL queries and utilize SQL Server Management Studio for various testing scenarios.
  • Ensure the quality and low bug rates of code released into production.
  • Follow QA processes and procedures throughout the testing life cycle.
  • Responsible for conducting analysis of defects with development team, BA and other stakeholders, replicating issues for analysis and resolution.
  • Support system testing by following up on and closing defect tickets in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate and mentor junior QA team members in U.S. and U.S.-India.
  • Analyze feature requirements and assist in identifying requirement enhancements to improve product efficiency.
  • Assist to Conduct feature demonstrations for stakeholders once testing is concluded.
  • Perform Production and test environments smoke testing for patch, Production release and deployments
  • Assist in defining performance testing process as applicable.
  • Establish and evolve seamless regression test process to include existing features and new features.

The Team:

Our Financial Services Tax Transformation practice serves the full spectrum of financial services sectors including banking, private equity, hedge funds, real estate funds, mutual funds, and insurance companies. Our national team is part of the National Federal Tax Services (NFTS) practice within Deloitte Tax LLP which is made up of a series of tax service offerings. Each NFTS service offering has been developed and built as a result of a tax planning idea, a marketplace need, or a technological innovation—all with the purpose of delivering results for our clients. NFTS service lines provide tax planning and compliance support for the largest organizations across all industries. 

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business information systems, computer science, business/technology or similar degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in QA Testing with at least 5 years in test automation
  • Proven experience with SDLC methodologies
  • Proven experience with writing SQL Scripts for testing
  • Proven experience of Agile methodologies and SCRUM processes.
  • Proven experience in creation/maintenance of testing artifacts using test management tools preferably Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available

Preferred:

  • ISTQB certified software tester certification obtained or in process or must be able/willing to obtain.
  • Experienced with automation tools preferably Selenium
  • Knowledge of QA process and testing methodology
  • Ability to analyze testing requirements based on the business requirements
  • Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (manual and automated).
  • Assure timely completion of testing for projects as well as comprehensive bug tracking and reporting
  • Bachelor’s degree in business information systems, computer science, business/technology or similar degree
  • Knowledge of a BDD framework like SpecFlow
  • Experience working in Financial Services environment.
  • Experience working in consulting environment.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and virtually.
  • Ability to understand business problem(s) being addressed by the project.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools preferably Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of an object-oriented programming is a plus – preferably C#
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Colorado or Nevada, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to the State of Colorado and the State of Nevada and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.  The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.  At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.  A reasonable estimate of the current range is $82,600 to $153,400.
 
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
